Independence Day 2013

I get choked up when I think about America because my America was built on the sacrifice of COUNTLESS patriots, each of whom added their own distinct contribution to the land of the free and home of the brave.

The Obama vision is NOT what they fought and died for. This is not what they sent their children to fight and die for. This is not America. It's a twisted, selfish, collectivist vision for fundamentally transforming my America into a perversion.

The Bill of Rights was established to LIMIT GOVERNMENT. And today, it's under assault. The Constitution was written to divide government so that the rights of the people would reign supreme. The founding fathers did not include czars to be appointed to de facto cabinet slots to circumvent Congress. The men who landed on Omaha Beach, who landed on Iwo Jima, who died in Iron Bottom Sound off Guadalcanal, and who perished in the skies over Germany during the Second World War became part of the greatest generation because of their belief in limited government and in the Bill of Rights.

Today if you create an organization called "Preserve the Bill of Rights", the US Internal Revenue Service will put you on a list for destruction. That is the hope, change, and fundamental transformation of America that Barack Obama promised. It's what his political successors --  people like Hillary Clinton, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Gov. Jerry Brown and the rest of the liberal left hold to their breasts. It's about taking power from the people by diluting the Bill of Rights until it is gone.

The Bill of Rights

  2. They see the Bill like Pirates see the Pirate Code.... more of a suggestion than actual rules. Oddly enough, they are like Pirates in other ways as well. Vermin.

    1. Barack the pirate? Most pirate captains couldn't get the crew do do all of their dirty work without participating, but other than that, the shoe clearly fits.

  4. obama is under the impression that he's a king, not an elected official. Wonder what Soros's profit picture looks like after obama has been in office more than one term?

    1. He is parading around Africa as if he's king of Africa too. Maybe if we built him a castle there, he'd stay?

  5. It is rather easy in this time to blame others for our own selfish inaction. Few of us risk, really risk anything today. Yes, we write copious words, to those that are like minded. But take no significant action against those that would do harm to this country. Few of us risk, really risk anything today. I honor those in the past that did.

    1. Brighid, I know a lot of the people who pop in on this blog personally. Some I met at Tea Party rallies. Some I met when we demonstrated at a spot in Searchlight, Nevada near Senator Harry Reid's home. Most of the people who drop by this blog do quite a bit -- in fact, everything that's legal.

    2. "everything that's legal." ah there's the rub.

    3. And I was NOT disparaging you or your friends. I was speaking about some that I know, including myself. Sorry if my remarks offended you, but how can we see the whole, if we limit the debate to only those that agree with us.
Have a Glorious 4th of July!

    4. I do have friends (writing of "the other Jack" for WoFat's info) who are uber liberal. They are dear friends but they revel in the coming of Obama. They are rational humans, but they don't get it -- so maybe they aren't so rational.

The blogging has four objectives from my perspective (which is why I do it).
      (1) to further the historical record that not everyone followed in the Obama Conga Line.
      (2) to let people know that if they are conservatives, they are not alone.
      (3) because while it is small, it is something.
      (4) because the mainstream media REALLY hates bloggers -- and conservatives most of all.

As Opus #6 will attest to, there was one circumstance when I was able to break a story (lawfully) that pulled Mr. Obama's pants down. Bigger bloggers than I am picked it up and then the mainstream media ran with it.

So SOMETIMES, it makes a small difference. (and I know that you're not disparaging - I'm merely explaining why I do this even though it often seems pointless)

  8. Sometimes I try to imagine what those countless would say about what's happening in this country. It's as if some demon was set loose when this man became president.

    Inspirational post, thanks.

    1. They'd revile us (collectively) for allowing it to happen, though in a democracy, we are limited by the majority, who have been corrupted with the promise of "free stuff".
