Priorities

In the game of national priorities, where President Obama would seem to be scrapping for a war (any war) to get the national focus off of the scandals that plague his administration --- the country doesn't seem to want a war.
(Fox News) (Ted) Nugent, in a letter to Obama, urged the president to "articulate the threat to our national security, to articulate your plan for eliminating that threat, and to seek the people's approval for your action." Nugent, though, argues that for him, the "moral argument" for a strike is simply not enough to justify it.
Meanwhile, scandals aside, the Obama Administration has yet to pass one single budget during his time in office. Under other presidents and congresses, it was a priority. Not now. Not when there is golf to be played and votes to be purchased. I suspect that he will leave office after 8 years without once passing a budget. It's tough to buy votes by "giving away" free things to one demographic that were earned by another demographic if you're enslaved by a budget.

Congress will soon be forced to vote more money for the Obama Administration (budget or now) and I can't help but wonder if the president's war mongering has something to do with trying to get a continuing resolution for more money (rather than simply move the ball down the field). Whatever the motivation for this ill conceived war, his own party isn't buying it. The Democratic Party's membership --- not the bullied and cowed Congress --- is even more opposed to the war than the Republicans are.

Instead of dealing with:
Immigration Reform
The National Budget
National Debt Issues
The Benghazi Scandal
The NSA Scandal
The IRS Scandal
The Fast and Furious Scandal
Trade issues with China
The worst relations with Mexico in the last 50 years
---on and on---

The President wants a war in Syria that the American people are overwhelmingly opposed to. Meanwhile Obama has made the US an international joke because of his antics.

  1. Minor typo in your first sentence: "on" should be "off"?

  2. Yep, you hit the nail on the head... And we've got a CSG hanging out at $25-40M per week that is supposed to already be home...

  3. Worst of all, he has made a joke of International Law. Where I thought that due to the power America with holds, it could create brilliant precedents in international law, here we are, facing Obama, who is scrapping away with the first principle of International law, trying to instigate a third world war. The world is not in safe hands.
