Is This Helping?

What do you feel like when you see this branding:

You wonder if the people at the US National Reconnaissance Office (part of CIA) are living in a cave in the Gobi Desert and are not let out very often.
(Fox News) The U.S. National Reconnaissance Office launched a new spy satellite Thursday evening on mission NROL-39 -- and the new logo and tagline are quite an eye opener.
The new logo features a giant, world-dominating octopus, its sucker-covered tentacles encircling the planet while it looks on with determination, a steely glint in its enormous eye. The logo carries a five-word tagline: “Nothing is beyond our reach.”

How does this logo make you feel?  (this is not a scientific survey)

A) "I'm glad that the NSA is listening to all my telephone calls and is downloading my computer and i-phone information. It's for my own good."

B) The octopus may be overreaching.

C) They could have found a more sensitive totem when you consider that our allies are using this to ram up our back sides.

D) Other.

    1. It's difficult these days to differentiate missions used to target hostile targets on foreign shores and those missions against people in the US who may be politically incorrect from an ObamaNation perspective.

  3. Does it mean that they are now smart enough to keep some piss brained punk from walking out the front door with THOUSANDS of pages of intelligence?

  5. A group I am part of came up with a new patch...I bought a couple, but I was not proud of it. I'm sure there are some NRO'ers who feel the same.

    1. The highest duty is to the people and to the law. So long as we remember that, we'll be fine. It's when we forget that the oath is to the Constitution and to defending it against all enemies foreign and domestic (so help me God) that we run into trouble.

  6. If you were designing a mad scientist logo for a sci fi movie you wouldn't do anything this corny. When the NRO comes up with this stuff in light of the current mood worldwide, it makes me hang my head in shame as an American.

    1. No spoof. But I'm with you. When I first saw it, I thought that it was a hoax.
