Will Obama use Healthcare to Target his Political Enemies?

We're all fellow Americans right? We disagree on how the government should be run. Some are happy with more taxes, some with less taxes and still others feel that their particular pet projects should be funded by taxes coming from somebody (anybody) else. However under this administration, there are Americans and there are Americans - how you vote being the deciding factor.

We know that the Obama Administration chose to punish political adversaries over the past three years by using the Internal Revenue Service to target them. (more here on that).

America (foolishly) opted to put its healthcare in the hands of the Federal Government. The program's teeth come from the Internal Revenue Service because, appropriately, the US Supreme Court said that ObamaCare is a tax.

In January of 2011, Rep. Michele Bachmann claimed the IRS planned to hire 16,500 IRS agents to police Obamacare compliance. CNN reported at the time that the number cited by the Minnesota Congresswoman originated in a GOP committee report, based on a preliminary estimate from the Congressional Budget Office.

Characterizing Obamacare as a tax under the purview of the IRS is not mistake. The near mythical authoritarian power of the IRS will be used to make sure Americans do not challenge Obamacare and unquestioningly submit to its unprecedented intrusion. And when you combine the IRS attack on Obama's political opponents, now heavily documented by Obama's friends in the mainstream media and the subject of an upcoming Congressional investigation---is it so difficult to believe that our healthcare will now be doled out based on political affiliation to the Democratic Party?

Obama's IRS Conspiracy

For all of those wearing tin foil hats, claiming that the Obama Administration had it out for them in particular simply because they engaged in teaching classes about the US Constitution or attempted to raise money to support an agenda other than the President's. You've officially been vindicated.
  • Phase 1 (Late 2009/Early 2010) - 10 Tea Party cases were identified and targeted for harassment by the US Internal Revenue Service.
  • Phase 2 (April 2010) 18 Tea Party Organizations targeted including 3 that had been approved for tax-exempt status.
  • Phase 3 (June 2011) Over 100 conservative organizations were targeted by IRS - and by now the criteria for attack expanded to organizations with "Patriot", "taxes", "government debt" and "Constitution" in their names.
(ABC NEWS) The targeting of conservatives by the IRS started earlier and was more extensive than the IRS acknowledged last week, according to a draft IRS inspector general report obtained by ABC News.
The report, done by the Inspector General for the IRS, also shows that senior IRS officials in Washington was aware of what was going on as early as August 4, 2011 when, according to the report, the IRS chief counsel held a meeting with the IRS’s Rulings and Agreements unit “so that everyone would have the latest information on the issue.”

Based on what we're seeing unfold primarily from the Inspector General's report indicates that this sort of policy direction would have to come from the Secretary of the Treasury -- who wouldn't cough without Presidential approval.

This sort of conduct isn't anything out of the ordinary in Chicago, but fortunately the nation traditionally holds a higher standard of ethics as the norm in these cases. I'm shocked that even the mainstream media has been reporting this. Naturally, they suggest that President Obama had no knowledge of this sort of widespread attack on his political opposition.

Congress needs to investigate and in due time, a special prosecutor needs to be appointed to hold those responsible CRIMINALLY accountable. Last Friday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called "on the White House to conduct a transparent, governmentwide review aimed at assuring the American people that these thuggish practices are not under way at the IRS or elsewhere in the administration against anyone, regardless of their political views."

Unfortunately calling on the White House to police itself is along the lines of asking a serial rapist to voluntarily cut off his genitalia.

Everyone involved needs to go to PRISON (upon conviction). That is the sort of apology that will satisfy me.
