BMW - Long in the Tooth

2011 - Long in the Tooth
I hate having to replace my car because the lease is coming up - and at the same time I don't want to buy the old car (above) because there is a point of diminishing returns and even at 3 years and 31K, it's still damned expensive to buy.  The dealership has called four or five times to get me back through the doors so that they can reload me into another expensive (but infinitely cool) BMW. My dealer is full of suggestions...

Though I have this unrealistic child-like dream that cars should last forever, they simply don't. However turning in a three year old car that's immaculate and still smells new seems sinfully wrong.

It's time to think long and hard on what the new ride needs to be. And how much money do I have to part with to get the handling, comfort and power of my BMW? --Without buying a BMW?

Decisions - Decisions - Decisions. Frankly I want a Ford Raptor and may split the baby by buying something cheaper and yet acceptable such as a Honda Accord so that I can also justify buying a Raptor.

What do you all think?

March of the Progressives

I'm ready for Hillary

Hillary R. Clinton, aspirant to the Presidency of the United States of America, potential Nobel Peace Prize recipient and progressive sion, wants you to forget inconvenient truth.

President Obama is headed back to Hollywood for a fund raising dinner. The topic of his discussion to his adoring movie moguls is income inequality in America. I wanted to attend but I couldn't because dinner is $10,000 a plate and I can't afford it.

To get into the shindig, you have to show your invitation (proof of payment) and your driver's license by way of identification. Somehow it's magically not racist for President Obama to require that, but it is if a precinct worker asks a potential voter to produce ID.

The Persian Bomb

Iran will have a nuclear bomb soon if it doesn't have one already. Within the year it will have more than one and then it will test it somewhere to prove to the world that it has one that works. There's not much that can stop it now. I can't help but wonder about the personal pay-off to Barack Obama is (pictured right). Perhaps that's the cynic in me.* The Obama White House has been blatantly for sale since the Nobel Laureate took office - in similitude of Chicago, the rock that he crawled out from under.
*"The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it." - George Bernard Shaw
It will be left to future US Presidents and world leaders to deal with the emboldened nuclear Iran. Israel needs to beef up its counterpunch in terms of its own nuclear weapons mounted on intermediate range ballistic missiles. The Saudis are buying theirs from the Pakistanis, who got them from the Chinese.  And suddenly the world just got a lot more dangerous.
