Fixing the Inner Cities

Is it the white man's fault that murder rates in the black community (black on black crime) is out of control? What about the other endemic problems that negroes have: drop-out rates, out of wedlock birth rates, the percentage of homes with no father present (around 82%) and the rates of incarceration? Can you lay all of that voluntary behavior at the feet of white males?

Some people thought that electing a mulatto who was raised with an absent father, who acted as more of a sperm donor than a parent would have brought national attention on the serious cultural problems faced by the black community. They reckoned wrong. Barack Obama is a narcissist and an opportunist. Nothing impacting the black community is anything more to him than a mechanism to obtain votes and contributions.

Most black convicts are sent to prison by juries made up at least in part by black people. The concept of "white man's justice" is a well worn phrase that doesn't pass the litmus test in America today where people elected a mixed race man to the white house twice.

There are a few things that the inner city people who are upset at their plight need to do:
  1. Have fewer bastard children. I've been told that the word "bastard" is out of date. Maybe that's a part of the problem. I realize that it's not the child's fault, but you get my point. Nuclear families provide stability. When only 18 percent of black families manage it, the thing is so out of balance that it will take a generation to repair it once the negro communities in America begin to take it seriously. If black households with kids had two parents and two incomes, then they would also be above the poverty rate. In other words, out of wedlock births don't only breed criminals, they breed poverty.
  2. Inner city schools are vastly expensive. The bloated education budgets benefit the teacher's unions, and the Democratic Party's power structure. Graduation rates are dismal and the education that the children receive is a joke. School choice/vouchers, an increase in trade schools and elimination of teacher's unions would result in a return to balance.
  3. As long as gangster rap is glorified, young people will gravitate in that direction. Rap is an extension of culture. Violence against women and drug use are glorified in that culture and in the music that springs from it. You have to change the culture if you want to fix the culture.
The fault is not in the white community. It's in the black community.
Thomas Sowell wrote: "You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization -- including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain -- without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large.
"Non-judgmental subsidies of counterproductive lifestyles are treating people as if they were livestock, to be fed and tended by others in a welfare state -- and yet expecting them to develop as human beings have developed when facing the challenges of life themselves.
"One key fact that keeps getting ignored is that the poverty rate among black married couples has been in single digits every year since 1994. Behavior matters and facts matter, more than the prevailing social visions or political empires built on those visions."
Black people are cut when they are compared to Asian immigrants because the Asians, many of whom have weak language skills, top blacks in every measurable category. Riddle me that.

  1. I read the Tiger Mom book - the point to take away was to watch that second generation. Our schools (over here) are FULL of Asian students…but most of them look like punk-rockers (I don't know if the kids still call them that?). Their parents work their butts off, but are giving their children a pass on the discipline, because they got it so much from their parents. The top of the academic lists are full of Indians and a couple Africans (actual African-Americans). It is…interesting?... to see an African American kid, who is not athletic in any way, and cares about his grades. I don't know if they get pressure from the other kids, but its refreshing to see…

    1. It's not common that African-American students lead the group in grades. Is it one student or is it a trend?

  2. Inner city schools are expensive? Why is that? I would think costs per square foot would be similar: maintenance, utilities, teachers, all of these cost the same at any school within a district.

    1. The cost of repair to standard damage, the security systems. Some have security guards in classrooms and the cost of teachers is higher. Check it out for yourself.

    2. I have no idea what the workman's compensation rates are for inner city teachers who are routinely put on medical leave for what has become standard acts of classroom violence, but it as to be very significant.

    3. Ah, got it. Same reason inner cities are called 'food deserts.' No for-profit grocery chain is going to set out their wares in aisles simply to have it all stolen by scumbag inner city dwellers. 'Shrinkage,' I think they call it in the grocery biz.

But since public schools are mandated everywhere, school districts simply have to eat these costs that are not present in the burbs.

  3. clever intelligentsia Just wondering: Is that a code word for lazy tenured pseudo-intellectual Ivy League professors who posit absurd and infantile sociological theories on their mush-brained charges and then engage in grade inflation when exam results come back in incomprehensible gobbledygook?

    1. Yes - and the question becomes one of cause and effect, doesn't it? The Imperial Left ignores the cause and focuses on the effect with great glee, promising more tax money to insure that the disenfranchised continue to vote for the people who are keeping them enslaved in the inner city hells.

  6. But then stable, middle class surburbia can also give birth to its own hell on legs. Crime bred from the angst of boredom and lack of thrill. For every scenario, rich, poor, single parent, working parents, nice house, shit hole, spoon in mouth or no, there are good and bad outcomes. Maybe it's about the characters that are raising the characters. Maybe minds should be developed and nurtured to be enabled so that they are stronger than their excuses.
