Special Post - Glen Frey's Passing

I was saddened a few minutes ago with the announcement that Glen Frey (67) passed away today. I remain a huge Eagles fan. Their music dominated a generation and will live and be enjoyed long after they (and I) are beyond caring.

Those who know me, know that I have tried not to miss an Eagles concert. My daughters have given me tickets as birthday presents, etc.

Anyway - RIP Mr. Frey and condolences to your family. You will be missed.

    1. I ask myself, "why couldn't it have been Hillary?"

    1. The average life span would have given him another four or five years, so he wasn't "young". But pneumonia? He got sick and let it get a twist on him and he couldn't bounce back. It's one of those things when you think you have the flu, it gets worse, you tell yourself that you'll be right soon and then complications take your life.

  3. What a pity.

I was fortunate enough to have met him 10 or years ago, and he seemed like a good guy....

    1. I think that he liked to take it easy...like standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona - what a fine sight to see. It's a girl, my lord, in a flat bed Ford, slowing down to take a look at him.

  5. The Eagles, my all time favorite band. Eventhough they have been apart for decades, their music lives on and is still refreshing as it was back in the day. +1 on Hillary and ++1 on Bernie Sanders.

  6. First time I have heard this news, LL. Yes, very sad. I think folks our age were all Eagles fans as their music covered most of the spectrum from pop to country; everybody liked their stuff. I could verify Glen's passing by turning on the TV, but your site is a bit more reliable.

    1. Thanks for the gold star for reliability.

Eagles music makes people feel happy, or nostalgic and as with all good music, you recall where you were and what you were doing when you hear this or that tune.

I mentioned to a friend that I'll miss Frey. They thought that I was a bit nuts because I've never met the guy, he's never been to my house for dinner, etc. But we do invite music in our cars in our homes, in our lives, and there won't be anymore songs from Glen Frey. Take it easy.
