Shall we Tolerate California?

What can be done about California?

Some uncharitable people feel that walling off the Golden State would be a good idea. While I can't argue against that (to protect the rest of the nation from illegal aliens), there may be another way...CANADA

The way that I see it, if Canadians are willing to take Syrian refugees, they could also take California liberals, college professors, Hollywood, Bay Area parasites, the politicians, illegal aliens, and all of the welfare recipients who vote both early and often

However if we do that we need to build a wall on the northern border to keep them from returning to the lower 48. The door north for Canadian asylum hippies does not swing both ways. We need to make that clear. The Hollywood freaks and misfits can go there and take their lucre with them, but there is no coming back to the mansions on the warm and inviting beaches.

A New Target for Hatred on Campus in California

First President Trump was the target, then First Lady Melania Trump was scorned for saying the Lord's Prayer... and now it's the Dalai Lama? Am I the only one who feels that political correctness has taken a step into the surreal?

Chinese students on campus are defending the official line of the Chinese Communist Party,  which is not fond of the Dalai Lama. I'm sure that funding for this official student outrage and unrest is coming from Beijing.

Where is the mainstream media outrage?

Where are the Congressional inquiries into the PRC's apparatus funding campus dissent in the USA?
(Quartz Media) On Feb. 2, the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) formally announced that the Dalai Lama would make a keynote speech at the June commencement ceremony.
The announcement triggered outrage among Chinese students who view the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader as an oppressive figure threatening to divide a unified China. A group of them now plans to meet with the university chancellor to discuss the content of the upcoming speech.

The awkwardness doesn’t end there. As the aggrieved students have trumpeted their opposition, their rhetoric has borrowed elements from larger campus activist movements across the United States. The upshot: What Westerners might perceive as Communist Party orthodoxy is mingling weirdly with academia’s commitment to diversity, political correctness, and other championed ideals.
It might be appropriate to send the Chinese students back home to China? "UCSD is a place for students to cultivate their minds and enrich their knowledge. Currently, the various actions undertaken by the university have contravened the spirit of respect, tolerance, equality, and earnestness—the ethos upon which the university is built. These actions have also dampened the academic enthusiasm of Chinese students and scholars." They have branded the Dalai Lama's proposed speech as a move against “diversity” and “political correctness.” Others contended the university was acting hypocritically by inviting an “oppressive” figure like the Dalai Lama while fostering a climate of anti-racism and anti-sexism.

The smug, elite, corrupt, progressive movement does like Pope Francis and so long as he remains a committed communist, he could give the speech, I guess.

  1. The Dalai Lama is a proponent of oppression?!?! Seriously??
That must be why he can't live in Tibet...because he is oppressing the Chinese...Just...ya know...like...WOW!

I think the students at UCSD have been smoking something besides cigarettes. That's all I'm saying...

    1. The outrage is genuine(ly funded by the PRC) and the students drank all of the Kool Aid. I'm sure that the corrupt, elite, progressive, smug, nasty mainstream media will fall into line and will help them stand against the racist, misogynistic Dalai Lama and his message of love and inclusion. We can't have a message like that going out to Social Justice Warriors.

  3. I think the Chinese students should pack up and return to China. You know, China - land of the free. What is with all these triggered and outraged young people? When I was in college all I had time for was class, work, and partay - not necessarily in that order.

    1. Now it's all about being a social justice warrior - fighting intolerance, bigotry, and Islamophobia, I guess. When you can take off class to riot and protest every day and still rack up straight A's (so long as Mom & Dad are forking over the money - or those student loans are paying the school), it can be a sweet life, I guess. You can simply walk off campus and occupy wherever and still be counted as attending and ever test score is an ace.

  5. Back when I was in school for the umpteenth time, one of the few real friends (as opposed to acquaintances who exchange pleasantries) I've had from mainland China said to me, "At least one in ten of the Chinese 'students' here has party connections and is reporting on the rest of us." And yes, you could hear the quotation marks around the word student. "I have no intention of ever going back. I like it here, but I have family in China, so I have to keep quiet." Now people are free to have their opinions on this particular fellow's bravery or lack thereof, but the average American has *no idea* of what actual repression is like. I know I don't know at a real, visceral level, yet I'm miles ahead of many of my fellow Westerners, particularly the younger ones. "But why would they be scared? They have first amendment rights!" was actually uttered by an acquaintance (white, progressive, naturally) in this context. The mind boggles.

    1. Nobody credits with the Ivy league of 2017 as having a cogent understanding of the world around them. They are good at slander, ad hominem attacks and avoiding attending class. They do those things well.

I was a 'China Expert' at one point in my life when I dealt with things Chinese, traveled to China and taught at the People's Public Security University, etc. Over the last decade I've been focused elsewhere, but China hasn't changed. As you suggest, there are a number of Chinese agents who are here as students. But it's not only China. There are a number of other nations to take advantage of the same opportunity and infiltrate government sponsored technical research projects, sending everything home.

  6. Maybe one day you will see the ordinary guy having enough of their daughters being raped and harassed, the car being put on fire, the local shop being vandalized and the police being stoned and thrown Molotov cocktails at. So far they have started to vote differently, but the PC media and politicians try and do their best to cover up what is going on in Sweden, France, Germany and so on people understand. The ordinary guy is not that stupid and understand there is a difference between people when he uses his ears and eyes when experiencing what is going on. From the numbers the left and liberals are few and when you add the criminals vandalizing and throwing stones at the police I guess it will be some noise for a short period of time, but then they have experienced there is border even for them.

    1. Law must serve the people's best interests and it must protect them or the people will change it. We're seeing that movement in France at the moment. I expect we will eventually see it in Sweden once the Muslims have terrorized enough people.

  7. What do you have against Canadians that you would suggest a massive invasion? Seems the times in the past we tried that it didn't trun out well for us.

Instead, they should move South. Many opportunities for social justice warriors and even a few socialist countries waiting with open arms. Plus, they won't freeze their asses off if they stay North of the 40th parallel.

    3. The Canadians have said that they want them. Trudeau has declared Canada a sanctuary for Muslims and progs. I have nothing against Canada, but only hope that their dream will come true and it can become America's dumping ground for progressives.

  8. I think you've struck gold. Canadians are SO nice I think they might ACTUALLY be able to tolerate all the wackos in California... at least, far better than the rest of us can. Surely a Hollywood transplant could make a killing on a reality TV show with footage of Canadians trying to remain super duper friendly in conversations with all the outraged, elitist, and entitled Californians?

    1. Eventually, the Canadians will set them adrift on an iceberg. That's my prediction. And that iceberg will melt, or they'll be mauled by "endangered" polar bears. How politically correct is that?

    1. That means that 3/4 don't want a travel ban and will embrace their new friends from Syria, Yemen and Tunisia...and San Francisco. The Swedish, French and German experience isn't lesson enough for them.
