Find the Theme (a challenge)

On June 25, the Korean Central News Agency published a lengthy statement by the National Defense Commission denouncing the Northern Limit Line (NLL) as illegal. The Commission also warned of irrevocable consequences from South Korean attempts to enforce it as a maritime boundary and, thereby, restricting North Korean fishing boats.

Summer is the peak fishing season in the Yellow Sea near Korea. In mid-June both countries increased naval patrols along the NLL. The statement serves as an alert to expect fishing boat incidents off the northwest coast of South Korea.

The message behind the message is that the North wants the South to not interfere with North Korean fishing because of the food shortage in North Korea. The NORKS are always starving, eating tree bark, etc. so this is nothing new. In much the same way as progs destroyed Detroit, the North Koreans would make the entire world North Korea -- and the Wahabbist Muslims would make the world something akin to that. Does anyone sense a theme here or is it just me?

A Ministry of Interior spokesman, Sediq Seddiqi, said on 28 June that 50 of the 400 districts of Afghanistan face serious security threats and nine of them are currently out of government control.

The Afghan government rarely admits that is has lost control of any territory, which makes the Ministry’s statement highly unusual. However, it understates security conditions. In Kunduz in northern Afghanistan, for example, five of the seven districts are assessed as under Taliban control. Government control is tenuous in at least three other northern provinces.

I haven't heard much from US Army Intelligence on the matter.

In eastern Afghanistan north or Jalalabad, the Islamic State (ISIL) franchise in Afghanistan runs one district as its base. The Taliban has a de facto power-sharing relationship with the government. Momentum appears to favor continued expansion of the Taliban share of the power-sharing.

Alexander and the Greeks couldn't hold it, the British Empire couldn't hold it, the Soviet Army couldn't hold it and the Americans are pulling out, leaving the Afghans to be Afghans...after spending trillions of dollars. Does anyone sense a theme here or is it just me?

News services are covering the details on the coordinated suicide bombings at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul on 28 June. They reported 36 people killed and at least 140 injured. Turkish authorities are blaming the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/ISIS). No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Turkey has been soft on Sunni extremists, as long as they did not execute operations in Turkey. ISIS has not been cooperative or grateful. Turkey has learned the hard way the lesson that the French learned. That lesson is that accommodation with and even support for Islamic zealots always backfires. ISIS attacks its benefactors.

As for the system, the attack was well-planned and executed. That always means that dozens of people knew about the plans and preparations for an attack. They helped the attackers by providing places to live and daily necessities. Some abetted the attack process by facilitating transportation. Most importantly, the bomb maker or makers, the operational planners and the weapons suppliers remain undetected. The success of the attack means Turkish intelligence and security missed the existence of the system that created the attack.

The Turkish security apparatus seems tougher on Kurdish extremists than on ISIS or on the al-Qaida franchise in Syria, the al-Nusra Front. The difference in treatment is Turkish policy. That policy has failed to stop attacks by either the Kurds or Islamic extremists.

The usual massive search for accomplices already has begun. These attacks could have been worse and Turkey has experienced worse. That occurred last October when ISIS killed 102 people and injured 248 in a suicide bombing attack at a train station in Ankara. As stated above, ISIS attacks its benefactors; expect more attacks. There is a theme here isn't there? Is there a lesson to be learned by Barack? Likely not.

Communists declared Venezuela a success story as the revolution took hold. It's beginning to look more like North Korea (there is a theme here) now. A wheel barrow full of Bolivars (local currency) won't buy a loaf of bread.

Didalco Bolivar, a spokesman for the ruling coalition, told the press on 28 June that President Maduro’s government “has started discussions to request a consultation with the constitutional chamber of the Supreme Court” for the purpose of “achieving the abolition of this National Assembly.” Maduro is seeking guidance from the judiciary on how to abolish the current legislature. Today’s statement reinforces our judgment that President Maduro has no intention of leaving office under opposition pressure, even if it means he must dissolve the current legislature.

The largest holder of Bolivars outside Venezuela is?

You're right (for once), it's Iran.

Iran is dumping its Venezuelan currency on anyone who is willing to buy it, even at an extraordinary exchange rate. The Ayatollah made a pact with Venezuela back when Hugo Chavez still lived and there is a lesson here - even an Iranian theocracy shouldn't cut a financial deal with a banana commie like Chavez, and his successor, Maduro.

Who is buying Bolivars?

Come on, you should be able to guess. Who does the US give its money to and to whom are we in debt?

Correct, China.

Nobody on MSNBC, CBS or ABC News have brought up Hillary Clinton's failing memory as justification for shutting down her campaign. After the Benghazi Massacre, she suffered organic brain damage when she fell. Does anyone other than me recall that?

It goes far beyond Benghazi with Hillary and who among us can forget President Bill Clinton declaring with righteous zeal and indignation under oath that he 'never had sexual relations with that woman'. Of course that was before the blue dress surfaced with his jiz all over it.

Bill and Hillary never really sold the goods to anyone. But they're not evangelists.

To see somebody who is a master of bullshit, you need to review Jimmy Swaggert's confession. Note that is AFTER the police found a prostitute and cocaine in his car. Before the police put an end to Jimmy picking up prostitutes and paying them from the "offerings" he received, Swaggert told a different story.

Bill Clinton did almost as well as Swaggert but the delivery needed work to come up to Swaggert's acting.

Hillary swaggers like Swaggert (waddles in her pantsuits) but has no recollection except that the Benghazi attack had to do with a video.

A Mad World?

Has the world gone mad? No, but the elites of Europe and America seem to think so and their new watch word is Xenophobia. Xenophobia, of course, comes from the Greek for “stranger” and “fear.” The idea here is that the British—in particular, the older, more rural and working-class voters—rejected an enlightened arrangement with Europe because they are either too stupid or too blinded by their own ignorance and prejudice to understand how good of a deal this is for them.  Being ruled by unelected Bureaucrats in Brussels with a New World Order in mind apparently didn't appeal to them despite billions being spent on advertising designed to enlighten and keep the UK in the European Union.

Slow Joe Biden tried to find what was wrong with the world in a speech in Ireland last Friday in which he “reactionary politicians and demagogues peddling xenophobia, nationalism, and isolationism.” It’s “un-American,” Mr. Biden said, of the British BREXIT vote, which of course by definition is un-American.

There is a fear of people living in "fly-over country" who cling to God and guns. Speaking to his wealthy California patrons at a fundraiser in uber-chic Marin County, in 2008, Barack  characterized the people in "fly-over country" as folks who “get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them.” What could be more xenophobic?

Clearly, xenophobia can only be exhibited by conservatives and constitutionalists. What you may mistake for xenophobia on the part of progs like Barack, Hillary and poor old senile Joe Biden, isn't really xenophobia at all even if it looks, sounds and feels that way. ("War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength")

Progs feel that Trump is xenophobic for wanting a wall along the border with Mexico. At present a wall exists along portions of the border but people pour over it to get to the US where they take jobs that could be filled by Americans. It may be xenophobic, or Islamophobic, homophobic, and possibly hispanophobic. Even though Trump is not a Texan, author, David Webber blames hispanophobia on Texas (currently considering a TEXIT).
"In essence, the Texas rebellion had been little more than a struggle for political and economic power, but early Texan historians elevated the revolt against Mexico to a 'sublime collision of moral influences', a 'moral struggle,' and 'a war for principles'. ... Hispanophobia, with its particularly vitriolic anti-Mexican variant, also served as a convenient rationale to keep Mexicans 'in their place.'" - David Webber
When all the dust settles in Istanbul, I'm confident that they will find that it was more white, American, middle class, Anglicans who bombed the place. Just ask the mainstream media. That's the default spin. Or some sand monkey did it because white, American, middle class, Anglicans didn't show him enough love. Maybe they didn't breast feed the ISIS terrorists when they were babies?

Make of all this what you will.

John (Swiftboat) Kerry, who has been wrong about everything since the Viet Nam War explains his theory.

I don't know if there is a bigger tool in politics than Barack (Slow Joe is senile so he gets a pass) but I was going to say it's John Kerry - but no, it's Hillary. The progs consist of one big tool chest.

Trying to Help Out DOJ

Mandatory Bias Training

The US Department of Justice is preparing to institute mandatory bias training for all of its employees including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
(Fox News) More than 33,000 federal agents and prosecutors are set to get the training, which will begin in 2017, though Department of Homeland Security employees are exempt. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is scheduled to announce the program in Phoenix on Tuesday, a DOJ official told Reuters.
Lynch didn't call me and I feel left out. I'd be happy to step up and providing bias training to the entire DOJ. When it comes to bias against terrorists, criminals and low life people (dirt bags) in general, I think that I score very high on the index. Sharing that bias with others is something that I'm uniquely qualified to do. I also have friends (some follow this very blog) who are highly qualified to explain why Muslims need additional scrutiny and would be excellent judges of which Syrians to let in the country and which to keep out...

In fact, since we know that the FBI is overwhelmed with the whole Hillary Clinton investigation, this same hand-picked group could also serve as a firing squad for the former SECSTATE once she's been convicted of treason. There are people who say that hanging is too good for her. I agree and am willing to donate the ammo for the squad to save the taxpayers the cost of a rope. That's who I am...a giver.

Tuesday Topics

The Economy

The latest poll showed that 48% of Americans approve of Barack's handling of the US economy. The other 52% are not on welfare and they have a different take on it. I find it interesting that the administration's latest pronouncement that a projected 1.5% growth rate in the economy is good news as touted by MSNBC. Yes, it could be worse, we could be in a full-blown recession. Take note that Chinese leaders panic when their growth rate dips below 7% annually.

Progs, Pundits and Beltway Insiders are gleefully predicting even worse economic numbers under a Trump Administration. I find it interesting that they've been wrong about everything for the past year including foreign predictions such as BREXIT. In any normal world, they'd be fired. But they linger.

Justice? Who knows?

A friend called me and asked me what was happening with the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), I'm not inside the walls of Director Comey's office. It would be so much easier to find out what was going on inside the FBI if they used Hillary's computer server.

Maybe they're redacting the crimes committed by Hillary Clinton in the same way as they redacted the police dispatch tapes of the Orlando Islamic terrorist attack?

The Federal Bureau of Intimidation is proving to be as disappointing to "Blind Justice" as the stain on a blue dress was to Bill Clinton.

Best Stay off the Lawn

It's the theme of the day.

"We used to stack fucks like you five feet high in Korea...use you for sand bags."  There are lots of inner city youth in America who need to have things explained to them in a way that they will understand. Clint preferred the .44 Magnum. I say it's edged by the .460 Magnum, but either way, the exit wound is vastly larger than the entry wound and a tube about an inch and a half across extending through the carcass -- of flesh, blood, bone fragments and viscera are ejected. Is the wound survivable? Likely not.

For that reason among others, I've decided on a CALIFEXIT. I'll go Californicate a neighboring state (fly-over country) but I won't be bringing California liberal dogma with me. In fact, once the license plates are swapped, you won't be able to tell me from a local.

Hillary Clinton promises to bring in 85,000 unvetted Syrian refugees into the United States in the first year if elected. While that's an exceptionally progressive move,  Barack is having trouble keeping his high propensity Democrat Party voters in the US.

Hillary isn't worried. If she's elected, she will have the opportunity to stack the Supreme Court's deck for the foreseeable future. Isn't that exciting?

The anti-Trump Republican pundits are thrilled with the prospect because they will be able to moan and hit up people for donations to the anti-Democrat effort for decades to come...perpetuating the scam that has been working so effectively for so long.

The Quota System
(7 News - Denver) You could be on a secret government database or watch list for simply taking a picture on an airplane. Some federal air marshals say they're reporting your actions to meet a quota, even though some top officials deny it.
The air marshals, whose identities are being concealed, told 7NEWS that they're required to submit at least one report a month. If they don't, there's no raise, no bonus, no awards and no special assignments.
"Innocent passengers are being entered into an international intelligence database as suspicious persons, acting in a suspicious manner on an aircraft ... and they did nothing wrong," said one federal air marshal.

I encourage this blog's readers to review the entire article.  Keep in mind that the current theme in the US is to deny ownership of firearms to anyone on the secret list, compiled by faceless bureaucrats, with no recourse or Constitutional due process or ability to challenge the data base.

Even speaking to a "suspicious person" could end you up on the watch list too. Which means that I'm never standing next to Woodsterman or the Grunt of Monte Cristo in the Reno Airport...

Time Travel?

Scientists believe there may be a wrench in the works that will make it impossible to travel backwards in time. (READ MORE HERE)
Physicists have confirmed the existence of a new form of atomic nuclei, and the fact that it’s not symmetrical challenges the fundamental theories of physics that explain our Universe.
But that's not as bad as it sounds, because the discovery could help scientists solve one of the biggest mysteries in theoretical physics - where is all the dark matter? - and could also explain why travelling backwards in time might actually be impossible.
I doubt that these findings will challenge the sci-fi genre, but it's interesting stuff if you're a science nerd.

Big Doings

We all have different ideas of what is important.  To some it is the global sweep of human affairs, to others it's the life of an endangered trash fish in a swamp.

To my grandson and namesake (right) it was the loss of his first tooth (which he self-extracted). There is a second lower tooth that is loose and he's working on getting that one out. The tooth fairy is generous and the more teeth that he manages to pry out, the richer he is. He is not saving the money for his retirement or for a killer investment. His eyes are on an action figure that he wants to play with.

The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

It's easy to miss or misjudge perspectives unless you look and listen carefully.

A Dispatch from the Jihad

The mainstream media in the US must have missed this headline below. It turns out that mosques in France are arsenals. Who would have guessed? Likely it's just one of those misunderstandings about the "religion of peace".

I wonder if we put up a lot of these signs up, creating jihad-free zones, if it will keep the sand monkeys from going in and killing all of the unarmed people?

Have you noticed how they avoid armed people? If you're a prog, you likely have not noticed.

Didn't Loretta Lynch (Atty Gen) suggest that loving the jihadis is the way to defeat them? If that's the new philosophy, send Barack (a closet queen) to the Middle East when he steps down on a mission of love to ISIS. Will they drown him in a cage or set him on fire (lovingly)? He can take Lynch with him on his mission of love. I'm sure that they'll pass her around before they behead her.

France Closes Down Mosques; 334 War Grade Weapons Found
Police investigating the Paris terror attacks have shut down three mosques in a series of raids to close the net on Islamic extremists, the Express reports.
France has been under a state of emergency since 130 people were killed in a series of terror attacks in Paris on November 13. Since then, some 2,235 homes and buildings have been raided, 232 people taken into custody, and 334 weapons confiscated.
The number of weapons apprehended so far is reported as “staggering.”
In a 15 day period, authorities have seized one-third of the quantity of war-grade weapons that are normally seized in a year.
This latest raid comes as authorities in a number of European countries crackdown on mosques suspected of being a breeding ground for extremists cells operating in the continent.
This week German authorities expressed concern refugees might be susceptible to radicalisation by Muslim extremists, who are using religion as an excuse to get closer to the new arrivals from Syria and other parts of the Middle East.
Yeah, you think?

A million unemployed, Syrian/Iraqi/North African military age Muslim males set loose in Europe. What could possibly go wrong?

Unease - Profound Unease

Welcome to your Sunday Sermonette.

These days, the GOP and Democrats alike within the Washington Beltway feel like slavers on a slave ship hearing the pitter patter of bare feet on the wooden deck overhead at night. Clearly BREXIT and the parallel rise of Donald Trump has caused disquiet among the ruling elites who feel that he won't play ball with the scam they've been running.

Because sovereignty and borders an issue that's in the news, let's take a step back and see how violations are handled around the world.
1. If you cross the border illegally in Canada, you get a $5,000 fine.
2. If you cross the border illegally in Iran, it is 8 years in prison.
3. If you cross the border in North Korea, you get shot.
4. If you cross the border illegally in the USA, you get a drivers license, medical insurance, subsided housing, the privilege to vote, career training, a job off the books,  a tax "return" (earned income credit) even if you earned nothing and contributed nothing and an opportunity to run for president.
Trump is not a great campaigner in a general election, at least not so far, however, if he does better than polls now indicate, it won’t be so much due to Trump as to the latent political strength of the forces he represents. It is that latent political strength that keeps the Beltway elite in our society up at night these days.

Robert Kagan
Politics makes for strange bedfellows as Republicans and Democrats team up to demonize Trump. Robert Kagan and Fareed Zakaria (on either side of the spectrum) claim that Donald Trump, would be a “fascist president.” In a reasonable world, it would seem curious to label someone a fascist who seems uninterested in putting together even a competent national campaign organization, much less a disciplined mass party. Probably Kagan is using “fascist” in the manner Orwell described, as a word having “no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable.’”
Insofar as Kagan’s own policy preferences are concerned, Trump is surely not desirable: a President Trump would risk not global war over Ukraine, nor attempt to establish American “benevolent global hegemony.” What is telling is to see Fareed Zakaria join with him—the two symbols of a kind of united globalist intellectual establishment that can tolerate no legitimate dissent—in the Trump demonization project.
Fellow blogger, Fredd, discusses the compass needle here on his blog. His thesis is that knowing the right thing to do simply consists of watching what Barack wants to see happen and doing the opposite. That has clearly become a reliable litmus test over the past 7.5 years. Since Barack and his coterie oppose a Trump presidency so violently, it must be a very good thing to work toward. As a result of this calculus, the #neverTrump crowd need to consider their positions far more closely.

It's either Trump and Constitutionalism or Hillary/Barack and globalism. The choice is just that simple.

BREXIT and Immigration

Despite opinion polls before the referendum that showed either side in a position to win, the outcome  stunned much of Britain, Europe and the trans-Atlantic alliance, highlighting the power of anti-elite, populist and nationalist sentiment at a time of economic and cultural dislocation.

The message delivered by the British people is very similar to the campaign being waged by Donald Trump.  The political elites dictated one thing and the public took a different direction.

The vote means that Britain will become the first country to leave the 28-member bloc, which has been weighed down by its failures to deal with the huge influx of migrants last year. Protecting borders against the million(s) of military age Muslim males who flooded in across Europe was the straw that broke the camel's back in my opinion. That immigration issue also weighed heavily on jobs for British people in Britain being at risk from others in the EU if they remained and the shots were called from Brussels. With net migration to Britain of 330,000 people in 2015, more than half of them from the European Union, Mr. Cameron had no effective response to how he could limit the influx. And there was no question that while the immigrants contributed more to the economy and to tax receipts than they cost, parts of Britain felt that its national identity was under assault and that the influx was putting substantial pressure on schools, health care and housing.

Barack campaigned heavily for the UK to remain in the European Union. Apparently his credibility in Great Britain is roughly equivalent to his credibility on this blog.

There are a lot of threats that without the EU, Britain will go broke. Really? I doubt that will be the case. We will see renegotiations and there may be some minor changes, but the EU has bigger problems than the UK at the moment, with other nations proposing their own referendums.

On the eve of the BREXIT Referendum

The date is propitious for the British vote regarding staying in the European Union or breaking from them and going it alone. It's time to look back 700 years before we know the result of the voting, particularly since Scotland is known to generally support remaining in the EU.

As requested by blogger, Juliette, a subject of the pre-results commentary, with a twist.

Today is the 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn.

Scotland had been dominated by England since conquered by Edward I ("Longshanks") in 1296; despite winning a victory at Stirling Bridge by William Wallace. However, Falkirk the following year (1298) had restored English authority; and Wallace had been captured and executed in 1305.

In 1306, Robert the Bruce claimed the throne of Scotland, and a guerrilla war was begun. This went on for many years, the Bruce's forces besieging isolated English garrisons and harassing the lands of their supporters. In 1314 Edward Bruce (his brother) laid siege to Stirling Castle, which warded the key eastern route into the Highlands.

The English king, Edward II (son of Longshanks) responded by raising a large army and marching to the castles relief. The English forces numbered some 2,000 cavalry; many of which were armored men-at-arms, the elite troops of the age; and 15,000 infantry, of which many were English or Welsh longbowmen; the battle-winner at Falkirk. Edward was little respected by his lords, and many of the greatest refused his summons. Those that followed his standard were members of the lesser nobility. Throughout the coming battle Edward exercised only a loose control of his forces.

Bruce drew-up his army of some 5-7,000 men south of Sterling, behind the marshy creek known as Bannockburn; a tributary of the River Forth. The Scots were mostly infantry (only about 500 being cavalry, and few of those as heavily armored as the English Chivalry); armed with pikes, axes, and swords. They deployed in their traditional schiltrons, circular hedge-hog formations pikes supported by axes.

The first day of battle the English made two attempts to charge the Scots with little preparation; the English lords showing little discipline or patience. In the first of these assaults, a celebrated single combat took place between when Henry de Bohun, nephew of the Earl of Hereford called-out and charged Robert the Bruce. No match for the English knight lance-to-lance, the Bruce came armed with only a battle axe. Robert waited, and when the charging de Bohan’s lance point glanced off the Bruce’s shield, Robert hacked at the back of the Englishman’s head as he careened past; caving in his helmet and splitting his skull.

The second day, a deserter from the English forces informed the Bruce that the English were demoralized and that their king exercised scant authority. The English were allowed to cross the Bannockburn and deploy with their backs against the creek. The ground was too narrow for their numbers, and the English found themselves crowded into the narrow space. They were also drawn-up too close to the waiting Scots.

As the English and Welsh longbowmen advanced to prepare to fire upon the tight-packed schiltrons (devastating at Falkirk), they were immediately charged by the small force of Scottish cavalry and driven off. The cavalry was followed by a general attack by the Scots all along the line, into the crowded English. The pikemen were able to drive in both the English cavalry and infantry; and at close-quarters the Scottish axes and swords reaped a bloody harvest. Edward fled the field, and his army collapsed in rout.

Though Edward escaped, most of his army perished in the resulting pursuit; and those who attempted to cross the Lowlands back to the English border were harried by the local populace; few surviving.

Scotland was free of English occupation, and would carry the war into northern England and even invade Ireland to help their fellow Celts throw-off the shackles of English rule.

Review of the News

Democrats staged a sit-in yesterday, which means that they hung out until the pictures were taken and then their staffers fetched chairs and lunch for them.

Congress currently enjoys an 8% approval rating in America. I personally feel that rating is way too high.

What happened to term limits? Didn't we do away with careers in the legislature? Or was the will of the people thwarted yet again?

I have grandchildren (all under the age of 7) who behave far better than the distinguished members of Congress. My granddaughter, Savannah (age 3) would never behave so disgracefully. Then again, she has been taught manners.

They really want to take firearms out of the hands of the people and leave them in the hands of the honest, trustworthy, faithful, law-abiding government (that transferred firearms to drug cartels in Mexico, for example). Thank you, no.

Any time, anywhere?

Lt. Gen. Jon Davis, the USMC deputy commandant for aviation, told Senate lawmakers that just 32 percent of the Corps’ Hornet fighters were operational. The branch needs at least 58 percent of the F/A-18s to be flight ready so that there are enough planes for combat, flight instruction and day-to-day training.

In their most recent annual report on aviation capabilities, Davis said, “I am concerned with our current readiness rates, both in equipment and personnel.”

The solution is that they're at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base near Tucson, AZ, pulling aircraft out of the boneyard for service.  The Corps blames the delay of the F-35 (ten years after promised delivery in 2006), but the cuts to the military have gutted the services, which are at or lower levels of readiness than the US was before World War Two. Thanks Barack.

North Korea: On Wednesday, 22 June, North Korea launched two more Musudan/BM-25 intermediate range ballistic missiles from the launch site near Wonsan on the east coast.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a statement that the first missile flew 150 kms and burst apart in flight. The second launch occurred two hours later. The Joint Chiefs said it flew 400 kms.

North Korea has launched six Musudan/BM-25 missiles since early April, five of which have failed in flight. It is not clear just what the failures and persistent testing signify.

Dear Leader is not happy
They could mean that the missile threat is not as dangerous as previously thought. North Korea fielded the BM-25 to firing units without testing it about ten years ago. Military capabilities analysts presumed prudently that every missile with a launch unit would fire. Five failures could mean that an entire production batch is faulty. The North might be trying to make that determination. This is the missile system that can reach Guam, if the missiles work as designed.

Some experts believe that the Norks are testing a new modification of the missile and is having difficulty making it fly. This explanation would mean the threat from fielded missiles is unchanged, except that the North remains determined to increase the missile and nuclear threat to the South.

Another possible explanation is that North Korea is testing missiles for Iran, which bought a firing unit and 18 or 19 Musudan/BM-25 missiles from North Korea in 2005. Iran also has never displayed or tested the missiles, which are now at least 11 years old. The missile launches at Wonsan could be part of a North Korean program to test, replace or upgrade the missiles Iran possesses.

The Mainstream Media Asserts "No Bias"

Some of you will be shocked, but according to MSNBC, they present fair and honest reporting of the news and the people who make the news.

If you don't agree with MSNBC, you've been brainwashed by 'white privilege' to the extent that you feel no 'white guilt' (shame for having not been born a negro), you are a bigot, a racist, sexist, and are also likely Islamophobic and homophobic. You may also be Achondroplasiaphobic (the fear of midgets) and coulrophobic (fear of clowns). The fear of clowns takes us down to the next news item of vital importance, and may explain why people fear the Three Stooges more than Barack and friends.

Which do you prefer?

Some people think that the originals are always the best. Hollywood would differ since every single successful movie is re-made (rather than coming up with a new idea). Some suggest that politics stole from Hollywood in this latest Washington re-make.

I can't stand watching the cheap knock-offs on television or when they make "news" - because it's always bad news.  $150 billion to Iran to stop developing missiles and nukes - and the Iranians laugh and keep developing missiles and nukes and use the $150 billion to fund terrorism directed at us. Or the botched Arab Spring and the Benghazi Massacre. Or Fast and Furious, where they transferred many thousands of firearms to the Mexican drug cartels...and on...and on.

Background Checks

Do background checks work in the firearms acquisition process? No. They're a joke. You only need to have a background check if you're an honest, hard working, American. Criminals buy firearms from other criminals. The same is true of banning any class of weapon. Most categories of weapons are illegal to own in Mexico. When did that stop the cartels from buying anything that they want? It's one of those straw-man arguments that progs make that don't hold water.

If you want people to feel safe, do as the Swiss do. Train EVERYONE in the use of firearms and allow them all to carry. Punish crimes where firearms are used severely. That fixes it. The problem that Barack has is that it would end in locking up more inner city people...

And while we're at it, we need to do what Trump suggests and that is take a very long and hard look at any Muslims who want to settle in the US...because background checks don't work very well for them either. Background checks only work on honest, hard working, Americans.

Several Mexican states have declared martial law (mostly in the far South of the country) and the situation there remains unresolved. Many small villages still don't have tap water (in the village), and the government doesn't do much to build infrastructure. Unemployment is rampant and wages are laughingly low. There are different standards in what MEXGOV is willing to spend in those states, generally populated by "Indians".

Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Guerrero are the hardest hit and the insurrection has been going on for years. And no, the mainstream media doesn't cover it because it's Mexico. That's just how it is.

Random Thoughts

Should History be a Part of Common Core?

The future is simple to predict (in a macro sense) because a study of history (cause and effect) allows the reader to draw parallels in the most amazing way.  The nature of man has not changed since men were able to communicate and write. It's difficult to assess before that, but we have roughly 5,000 years to work with. When you consider the volume of data available, even a computer of modest power can compare and contrast. From that point of view, history should be an essential part of study from the very earliest instruction.

The history that is taught in schools is progressive philosophy mixed with a few facts - and vast omissions. Thus a study of revisionist history is a complete waste of time. The time taken teaching "wikipedia" history where students cut and paste to generate "reports" could better be put to hard science and math. Is that racist or progresso-phobic? Most liberals prefer "liberal arts" to science.

Empowering Despotism

There are a number of excellent examples of gun control in action across the world. Despots who desire control over a population must disarm them first or they face situations that may be dangerous to their own survival or that of their regime.

The Jews in the USA are clearly not representative of the Jews in Israel. They routinely support policies that would march themselves back into ovens. Israeli Jews have a far more circumspect view of the situation since they are surrounded by people who want to see them wiped out to the last man/woman/child.

American Indians at Wounded Knee refused to give up their arms (primarily because they needed to hunt during the winter) and the US Army killed about 300 of them. (link). It makes the recent slaughter in Orlando look anemic.

Armed people will kill unarmed people with alarming regularity. Take Paris, San Bernardino or Orlando for example. The only answer to the problem is to empower the honest, hard working people to protect themselves from savages. Progs and elites have never advocated disarming their security details. You can't blame them.

The Solstice

Today the 2016 Solstice is coming to a close and Wiccans are drawing their three-day orgy to an end. Naturally if you've been attending a pagan orgy, you haven't been reading this blog. You've had other things on your mind as you exchange social diseases with your friends.

There are a number of "Litha"/wicker man festivals going on in California. I consider them a type of warm-up for Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert (NV), which is a "pagan festival" of a completely different nature. Though witches do show up at Burning Man, there are a lot of unaffiliated hippies, "artists", freaks and hangers-on who also bark at the moon while naked. Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference between a genuine California witch and a new age Illuminati stooge with a wicked crystal meth habit.

The typical lesbian witch crew in California considers Burning Man an event done in poor taste, primarily because it was not started as a witch-centric event. They also object to the presence of men and to the "rape culture" that exists there in the Nevada desert. Women, loaded on chemicals, pass out and wake up, having been violated and filled (with new social diseases) by one or more males (NY Times did a piece on the whole rape at Burning Man thing). Then again, it happens to guys who pass out too, so it's an equal opportunity violation orgy in the filth of the desert.

From what witches say, Burning Man not as fun to attend as the the witch lesbian- love fests in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Both are akin to "worshiping a golden calf" but that's just me offering up my two cents worth.

Barack Update

I heard that Barack and a massive entourage have taken over Yosemite National Park as part of one of several presidential summer vacations. As a taxpayer, I feel privileged to cover all of his majesty's junkets to different parts of the world and the "good will missions" that his ugly wife takes to get her out of the White House (which reminds her of slavery).

One question on everyone's lips is whether Barack will team up post-presidential term, with Rev. Al Sharpton to begin a clown show that would tour the us, and perhaps the world. Two evil clowns under the same big top? It could happen and while it's not the sort of circus that you'd want to take your kids to, I'm sure that the lemmings/progs would line up in droves and fork over big money to see the act. It would be fun to see Barack get a pie in the face and Al fall prey to the fake flower in the lapel that shoots water. But I might wait for the MSNBC Special.

Indonesia-China-South China Sea Clash

On 17 June, an Indonesian naval patrol ship fired warning shots towards several Chinese fishing boats that were operating near the Natuna Islands, which are part of Indonesia.

You'll recall that China claims the entire South China Sea (among other vast tracts of the Pacific) are its own domain.

The Indonesian navy said the Chinese fishing boats were fishing illegally and that no one was injured by the warning shots.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman confirmed the firing incident on the 17th and said that the Indonesians wounded one fisherman and detained the seven-man crew of one of the fishing boats.

This was the third confrontation near the Natuna Islands this year. Chinese authorities acknowledge Indonesian sovereignty over the Natuna Islands, but the map the Chinese use to delineate their claims to sovereignty includes some sea areas over which Indonesia has sovereignty, according to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Apparently that overlap encourages poaching by some Chinese fishing crews.

The three incidents this year indicate the China’s assertion of sovereignty over most of the South China Sea does not represent the limit of Chinese fishing boat operations. There is no promise that the Chinese will respect fishing rights outside the limits of the Chinese claim. Rather, the limit of the Chinese claim constitutes the safe baseline, behind which Chinese fishing boats can expect armed protection from the maritime police, the coast guard and the Chinese navy.

A confrontation between Chinese maritime police and the Indonesian Navy is unlikely. However, recurring incidents involving Chinese fishing boats are highly likely.

Fourfer Twofer Tuesday

A progressive prayer:

A message to all progressives that they may be disturbed to see:

Thoughts from Dear Leader:

Many people believe that Barack is a sociopathic narcissist. While true, that doesn't mean that he won't keep a promise to people that he values:

It's 116 Degrees in Trona

There is no bass fishing lake in Trona. The water boils there in the summer and the fish would be par-boiled.

The famous fish head rocks (rocks painted like fish heads)
are a tourist attraction in Trona, bringing tens of people to
town every single year.
For those of you who have not explored the Southern end of Death Valley in the summer, I can only suggest that you have more brains than balls. There isn't much in the area besides some rail switching yards and a chemical plant in Trona (mining borax and potash), and Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake. Yes, the Navy is there and the range takes up the bulk of the Cosco (not Costco) Valley.

I'm not making fun of Trona. I've been through there a number of times and have visited the movie sets at the Trona Pinnacles, where various Sci-Fi films were shot including Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, Battlestar Galactica, and many others. I think that Trona Pinnacles is second only to Vasquez Rocks in terms of its appeal to Sci-Fi film makers.

Vasquez Rocks (Near Agua Dulce, CA)
Trona Pinnacles (Near Trona, CA)
Old Betsy
There's not much else to bring you to Trona unless you work at the Searles Valley Borax plant or you work on the Trona Railway (a 30 mile spur that connects with the Union Pacific).

A steam locomotive, affectionately called, "Old Betsy" ran the Trona Railway line in the 1930's and 1940's. The area peaked during World War 2 when Trona (America's only source of potash, an essential ingredient in gunpowder) became an important part of the war effort.

Navy guys working at China Lake don't go into Trona for a good time. The Esparza Family Restaurant and the Trails Drive in are the only two restaurants I know of in Trona. The burgers are OK. If you're stopping to eat in Trona, you're likely hungry and they taste even better - and who doesn't want a frosty shake when it's 116 in the shade?

A Trona vacation.

The antidote for civilization

Mother and me circa 1995
I mentioned once before that my 85 year old mother flew from Redding to Southern California to spend some time with me. On her way back home to Redding, the airport police and ultimately DEA detained her as a suspected drug trafficker. She does take a lot of vitamins. They thought that the vitamins were hard drugs. They didn't let her call me, they detained her for four hours. Then I had to pick her up at the airport and bring her back home because she missed the last flight.

I was distressed at the lack of wisdom that went into that investigation I called the DEA SAC in the morning and screamed at him. A trained chimp with a PDR (physician's desk reference) could have determined that no drugs were being transported in about ten minutes.  I believe in profiling. It works. My mother didn't fit any profile and they screwed with her because they could.
Donald Trump suggested Sunday that the U.S. start “profiling” people inside the country to thwart terrorism, calling it a hateful but “common sense” tactic, in the aftermath of recent terror attacks.
"I think profiling is something we're going to have to start thinking about as a country," Trump said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "I hate the concept of profiling, but we have to start using common sense.”
The presumptive GOP presidential nominee also argued that other countries, including Israel, profile “and they do it successfully.”
Trump, as he has frequently argued, said radical Islam groups are creating “big problems.”
The Israelis profile very heavily. So do the Chinese. Chinese national carriers have their own version of sky marshals on every flight. Try to get a flight to the PRC if your name is Mohammed something and you'll see what I mean.

The progressive left doesn't believe in profiling Muslims because it's Islamophobic. Except that Muslims are the people causing problems.

Attacks on American soil during the Obama Administration's rule:

Feb. 12, 2009 – Pakistani-American Muzzammil Syed Hassan was the CEO of the first American Muslim TV network broadcast in English, Bridge TV. Larry, 33, became angry that his family would not convert to Islam and shot his mother, pregnant wife, infant son and two nieces in Marquette Park, Illinois. He pleaded guilty to multiple counts of murder, attempted murder and the intentional homicide of an unborn child. “He was upset at his wife and their family — he felt disrespected that they would not join his religion,” Assistant State’s Attorney Jim McKay said. “It didn’t matter if they were young or old, pregnant or not. He wanted them dead.” Larry also shot his 13-year-old nephew in the face, but the boy survived. When the man was arrested, he told officers Allah told him to kill his family, according to court records. According to a police report, he said, “I wish I had more bullets. Feb. 7, 2013 – Yusuf Ibrahim, 28, shot two Coptic Christians to death and beheaded them in Buena Vista, New Jersey. He also removed their hands before burying their bodies in the backyard of an abandoned house. Quran 8:12 states, “When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, ‘I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers’ hearts terror; so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!”

March 31, 2013 – Reshad Riddle walked into an Ashtabula, Ohio, church and fatally shot his father after an Easter service. After the shooting, witnesses say, walked through the church holding the gun and shouted that the slaughter was “the will of Allah. This is the will of God.”

April 15, 2013 – Muslim Chechen brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev detonate two pressure cooker bombs during the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring an estimated 264 others. After the bombing, they killed an MIT policeman, stole an SUV and exchanged gunfire with police. Tamerlan was shot and his brother drove over him with the stolen SUV. Police believe he then dumped the bodies near a ferry gate. In his bedroom, Cosby had the Quran open to a page that says homosexuality is a sin, family advocate Quanell X told KHOU-TV. “It’s quite unfortunate but he had a real, real warped understanding, in my opinion, of the religion of Islam and its position on the gay lifestyle and what one should do,” Quanell X said.

April 27, 2014 – A 30-year-old Muslim man, Ali Muhammad Brown, is accused of shooting to death two men in Seattle and a man in New Jersey. According to local reports, he told police the killings were “vengeance” for U.S. actions in the Mideast. According to court documents, he said they were “just kills” and that he was “just doing my small part” as a self-styled jihadist.

My question is, do you have any Muslims that can represent me as a Muslim?”

Dec. 20, 2014 – Muslim man named Ismaaiyl Brinsley brutally murdered two New York City police officers. Police believe Brinsley was seeking revenge for the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown at the hands of police. Brinsley fled after the slaughter and eventually shot himself to death on a subway platform. Brinsley’s abandoned YouTube channel contained a video showing him heading to pray at Brooklyn’s Masjid At Taqwa, a mosque that has been linked to terrorist and anti-police activity.

Oct. 23, 2014 – 32-year-old Zale H. Thompson, who had recently converted to Islam attacked four New York City police officers with an 18-inch metal hatchet. May 3, 2015 – In Garland, Texas, Pamela Geller, along with her group the American Freedom Defense Initiative, hosted a “Draw Muhammad” event. Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi of Phoenix responded to a call to “avenge the prophet” and traveled to Garland, where they were shot and killed by a security guard after opening fire in an apparent attempt to get into the building. The guard was wounded in the attack. Islamic radicals have since called for Geller’s head, and vow to kill anyone who “blasphemes” Muhammad.

Barack Obama took office as the 44th President of the United States on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. This is a full and compete list of attacks on Islamics, Pakistanis, Arabs, or anyone likely to be mistaken for a Muslim by American citizens either on American soil or abroad, in the name of America:
2009 to 2016 – None.
That is, total Muslims killed by Americans for their religion: None. Total wounded: None. Total number of American conspiracies caught before perpetrating such an act by law enforcement: None.

The total of innocent Americans killed on American soul in the name of Islam is above 115 just during the seven years and a half of Mr. Obama’s presidency. The total number of victims abroad, American or otherwise, is immense, perhaps beyond calculation.
