The Trump Doctrine

Normally, I keep this blog's posts short and don't extensively quote, but I would like you to read President Trump's speech to the United Nations 74th General Assembly. I have heard from haters that "President Trump doesn't have a TRUMP DOCTRINE". That's not true. He lays it all out here.

Thank you very much. Mr. President, Mr. Secretary-General, distinguished delegates, ambassadors, and world leaders:

Seven decades of history have passed through this hall, in all of their richness and drama. Where I stand, the world has heard from presidents and premiers at the height of the Cold War. We have seen the foundation of nations. We have seen the ringleaders of revolution. We have beheld saints who inspired us with hope, rebels who stirred us with passion, and heroes who emboldened us with courage — all here to share plans, proposals, visions, and ideas on the world’s biggest stage.

Like those who met us before, our time is one of great contests, high stakes, and clear choices. The essential divide that runs all around the world and throughout history is once again thrown into stark relief.

It is the divide between those whose thirst for control deludes them into thinking they are destined to rule over others and those people and nations who want only to rule themselves.

I have the immense privilege of addressing you today as the elected leader of a nation that prizes liberty, independence, and self-government above all. The United States, after having spent over two and a half trillion dollars since my election to completely rebuild our great military, is also, by far, the world’s most powerful nation. Hopefully, it will never have to use this power.

Americans know that in a world where others seek conquest and domination, our nation must be strong in wealth, in might, and in spirit. That is why the United States vigorously defends the traditions and customs that have made us who we are.

Like my beloved country, each nation represented in this hall has a cherished history, culture, and heritage that is worth defending and celebrating, and which gives us our singular potential and strength.

The free world must embrace its national foundations. It must not attempt to erase them or replace them.

Looking around and all over this large, magnificent planet, the truth is plain to see: If you want freedom, take pride in your country. If you want democracy, hold on to your sovereignty. And if you want peace, love your nation. Wise leaders always put the good of their own people and their own country first.

The future does not belong to globalists. The future belongs to patriots. The future belongs to sovereign and independent nations who protect their citizens, respect their neighbors, and honor the differences that make each country special and unique.

It is why we in the United States have embarked on an exciting program of national renewal. In everything we do, we are focused on empowering the dreams and aspirations of our citizens.

Thanks to our pro-growth economic policies, our domestic unemployment rate reached its lowest level in over half a century. Fueled by massive tax cuts and regulations cuts, jobs are being produced at a historic rate. Six million Americans have been added to the employment rolls in under three years.

Last month, African American, Hispanic American, and Asian American unemployment reached their lowest rates ever recorded. We are marshaling our nation’s vast energy abundance, and the United States is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world. Wages are rising, incomes are soaring, and 2.5 million Americans have been lifted out of poverty in less than three years.

As we rebuild the unrivaled might of the American military, we are also revitalizing our alliances by making it very clear that all of our partners are expected to pay their fair share of the tremendous defense burden, which the United States has borne in the past.

At the center of our vision for national renewal is an ambitious campaign to reform international trade. For decades, the international trading system has been easily exploited by nations acting in very bad faith. As jobs were outsourced, a small handful grew wealthy at the expense of the middle class.

In America, the result was 4.2 million lost manufacturing jobs and $15 trillion in trade deficits over the last quarter century. The United States is now taking that decisive action to end this grave economic injustice. Our goal is simple: We want balanced trade that is both fair and reciprocal.

We have worked closely with our partners in Mexico and Canada to replace NAFTA with the brand new and hopefully bipartisan U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

Tomorrow, I will join Prime Minister Abe of Japan to continue our progress in finalizing a terrific new trade deal.

As the United Kingdom makes preparations to exit the European Union, I have made clear that we stand ready to complete an exceptional new trade agreement with the UK that will bring tremendous benefits to both of our countries. We are working closely with Prime Minister Boris Johnson on a magnificent new trade deal.

The most important difference in America’s new approach on trade concerns our relationship with China. In 2001, China was admitted to the World Trade Organization. Our leaders then argued that this decision would compel China to liberalize its economy and strengthen protections to provide things that were unacceptable to us, and for private property and for the rule of law. Two decades later, this theory has been tested and proven completely wrong.

Not only has China declined to adopt promised reforms, it has embraced an economic model dependent on massive market barriers, heavy state subsidies, currency manipulation, product dumping, forced technology transfers, and the theft of intellectual property and also trade secrets on a grand scale.

As just one example, I recently met the CEO of a terrific American company, Micron Technology, at the White House. Micron produces memory chips used in countless electronics. To advance the Chinese government’s five-year economic plan, a company owned by the Chinese state allegedly stole Micron’s designs, valued at up to $8.7 billion. Soon, the Chinese company obtains patents for nearly an identical product, and Micron was banned from selling its own goods in China. But we are seeking justice.

The United States lost 60,000 factories after China entered the WTO. This is happening to other countries all over the globe.

The World Trade Organization needs drastic change. The second-largest economy in the world should not be permitted to declare itself a “developing country” in order to game the system at others’ expense.

For years, these abuses were tolerated, ignored, or even encouraged. Globalism exerted a religious pull over past leaders, causing them to ignore their own national interests.

But as far as America is concerned, those days are over. To confront these unfair practices, I placed massive tariffs on more than $500 billion worth of Chinese-made goods. Already, as a result of these tariffs, supply chains are relocating back to America and to other nations, and billions of dollars are being paid to our Treasury.

The American people are absolutely committed to restoring balance to our relationship with China. Hopefully, we can reach an agreement that would be beneficial for both countries. But as I have made very clear, I will not accept a bad deal for the American people.

As we endeavor to stabilize our relationship, we’re also carefully monitoring the situation in Hong Kong. The world fully expects that the Chinese government will honor its binding treaty, made with the British and registered with the United Nations, in which China commits to protect Hong Kong’s freedom, legal system, and democratic ways of life. How China chooses to handle the situation will say a great deal about its role in the world in the future. We are all counting on President Xi as a great leader.

The United States does not seek conflict with any other nation. We desire peace, cooperation, and mutual gain with all. But I will never fail to defend America’s interests.

One of the greatest security threats facing peace-loving nations today is the repressive regime in Iran. The regime’s record of death and destruction is well known to us all. Not only is Iran the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism, but Iran’s leaders are fueling the tragic wars in both Syria and Yemen.

At the same time, the regime is squandering the nation’s wealth and future in a fanatical quest for nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them. We must never allow this to happen.

To stop Iran’s path to nuclear weapons and missiles, I withdrew the United States from the terrible Iran nuclear deal, which has very little time remaining, did not allow inspection of important sites, and did not cover ballistic missiles.

Following our withdrawal, we have implemented severe economic sanctions on the country. Hoping to free itself from sanctions, the regime has escalated its violent and unprovoked aggression. In response to Iran’s recent attack on Saudi Arabian oil facilities, we just imposed the highest level of sanctions on Iran’s central bank and sovereign wealth fund.

All nations have a duty to act. No responsible government should subsidize Iran’s bloodlust. As long as Iran’s menacing behavior continues, sanctions will not be lifted; they will be tightened. Iran’s leaders will have turned a proud nation into just another cautionary tale of what happens when a ruling class abandons its people and embarks on a crusade for personal power and riches.

For 40 years, the world has listened to Iran’s rulers as they lash out at everyone else for the problems they alone have created. They conduct ritual chants of “Death to America” and traffic in monstrous antisemitism. Last year the country’s Supreme Leader stated, “Israel is a malignant cancerous tumor…that has to be removed and eradicated: it is possible and it will happen.” America will never tolerate such antisemitic hate.

Fanatics have long used hatred of Israel to distract from their own failures. Thankfully, there is a growing recognition in the wider Middle East that the countries of the region share common interests in battling extremism and unleashing economic opportunity. That is why it is so important to have full, normalized relations between Israel and its neighbors. Only a relationship built on common interests, mutual respect, and religious tolerance can forge a better future.

Iran’s citizens deserve a government that cares about reducing poverty, ending corruption, and increasing jobs — not stealing their money to fund a massacre abroad and at home.

After four decades of failure, it is time for Iran’s leaders to step forward and to stop threatening other countries, and focus on building up their own country. It is time for Iran’s leaders to finally put the Iranian people first.

America is ready to embrace friendship with all who genuinely seek peace and respect.

Many of America’s closest friends today were once our gravest foes. The United States has never believed in permanent enemies. We want partners, not adversaries. America knows that while anyone can make war, only the most courageous can choose peace.

For this same reason, we have pursued bold diplomacy on the Korean Peninsula. I have told Kim Jong Un what I truly believe: that, like Iran, his country is full of tremendous untapped potential, but that to realize that promise, North Korea must denuclearize.

Around the world, our message is clear: America’s goal is lasting, America’s goal is harmony, and America’s goal is not to go with these endless wars — wars that never end.

With that goal in mind, my administration is also pursuing the hope of a brighter future in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the Taliban has chosen to continue their savage attacks. And we will continue to work with our coalition of Afghan partners to stamp out terrorism, and we will never stop working to make peace a reality.

Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are joining with our partners to ensure stability and opportunity all across the region. In that mission, one of our most critical challenges is illegal immigration, which undermines prosperity, rips apart societies, and empowers ruthless criminal cartels.

Mass illegal migration is unfair, unsafe, and unsustainable for everyone involved: the sending countries and the depleted countries. And they become depleted very fast, but their youth is not taken care of and human capital goes to waste.

The receiving countries are overburdened with more migrants than they can responsibly accept. And the migrants themselves are exploited, assaulted, and abused by vicious coyotes. Nearly one third of women who make the journey north to our border are sexually assaulted along the way. Yet, here in the United States and around the world, there is a growing cottage industry of radical activists and non-governmental organizations that promote human smuggling. These groups encourage illegal migration and demand erasure of national borders.

Today, I have a message for those open border activists who cloak themselves in the rhetoric of social justice: Your policies are not just. Your policies are cruel and evil. You are empowering criminal organizations that prey on innocent men, women, and children. You put your own false sense of virtue before the lives, wellbeing, and [of] countless innocent people. When you undermine border security, you are undermining human rights and human dignity.

Many of the countries here today are coping with the challenges of uncontrolled migration. Each of you has the absolute right to protect your borders, and so, of course, does our country. Today, we must resolve to work together to end human smuggling, end human trafficking, and put these criminal networks out of business for good.

To our country, I can tell you sincerely: We are working closely with our friends in the region — including Mexico, Canada, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Panama — to uphold the integrity of borders and ensure safety and prosperity for our people. I would like to thank President López Obrador of Mexico for the great cooperation we are receiving and for right now putting 27,000 troops on our southern border. Mexico is showing us great respect, and I respect them in return.

The U.S., we have taken very unprecedented action to stop the flow of illegal immigration. To anyone considering crossings of our border illegally, please hear these words: Do not pay the smugglers. Do not pay the coyotes. Do not put yourself in danger. Do not put your children in danger. Because if you make it here, you will not be allowed in; you will be promptly returned home. You will not be released into our country. As long as I am President of the United States, we will enforce our laws and protect our borders.

For all of the countries of the Western Hemisphere, our goal is to help people invest in the bright futures of their own nation. Our region is full of such incredible promise: dreams waiting to be built and national destinies for all. And they are waiting also to be pursued.

Throughout the hemisphere, there are millions of hardworking, patriotic young people eager to build, innovate, and achieve. But these nations cannot reach their potential if a generation of youth abandon their homes in search of a life elsewhere. We want every nation in our region to flourish and its people to thrive in freedom and peace.

In that mission, we are also committed to supporting those people in the Western Hemisphere who live under brutal oppression, such as those in Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

According to a recent report from the U.N. Human Rights Council, women in Venezuela stand in line for 10 hours a day waiting for food. Over 15,000 people have been detained as political prisoners. Modern-day death squads are carrying out thousands of extrajudicial killings.

The dictator Maduro is a Cuban puppet, protected by Cuban bodyguards, hiding from his own people while Cuba plunders Venezuela’s oil wealth to sustain its own corrupt communist rule.

Since I last spoke in this hall, the United States and our partners have built a historic coalition of 55 countries that recognize the legitimate government of Venezuela.

To the Venezuelans trapped in this nightmare: Please know that all of America is united behind you. The United States has vast quantities of humanitarian aid ready and waiting to be delivered. We are watching the Venezuela situation very closely. We await the day when democracy will be restored, when Venezuela will be free, and when liberty will prevail throughout this hemisphere.

One of the most serious challenges our countries face is the specter of socialism. It’s the wrecker of nations and destroyer of societies.

Events in Venezuela remind us all that socialism and communism are not about justice, they are not about equality, they are not about lifting up the poor, and they are certainly not about the good of the nation. Socialism and communism are about one thing only: power for the ruling class.

Today, I repeat a message for the world that I have delivered at home: America will never be a socialist country.

In the last century, socialism and communism killed 100 million people. Sadly, as we see in Venezuela, the death toll continues in this country. These totalitarian ideologies, combined with modern technology, have the power to excise [exercise] new and disturbing forms of suppression and domination.

For this reason, the United States is taking steps to better screen foreign technology and investments and to protect our data and our security. We urge every nation present to do the same.

Freedom and democracy must be constantly guarded and protected, both abroad and from within. We must always be skeptical of those who want conformity and control. Even in free nations, we see alarming signs and new challenges to liberty.

A small number of social media platforms are acquiring immense power over what we can see and over what we are allowed to say. A permanent political class is openly disdainful, dismissive, and defiant of the will of the people. A faceless bureaucracy operates in secret and weakens democratic rule. Media and academic institutions push flat-out assaults on our histories, traditions, and values.

In the United States, my administration has made clear to social media companies that we will uphold the right of free speech. A free society cannot allow social media giants to silence the voices of the people, and a free people must never, ever be enlisted in the cause of silencing, coercing, canceling, or blacklisting their own neighbors.

As we defend American values, we affirm the right of all people to live in dignity. For this reason, my administration is working with other nations to stop criminalizing of homosexuality, and we stand in solidarity with LGBTQ people who live in countries that punish, jail, or execute individuals based upon sexual orientation.

We are also championing the role of women in our societies. Nations that empower women are much wealthier, safer, and much more politically stable. It is therefore vital not only to a nation’s prosperity, but also is vital to its national security, to pursue women’s economic development.

Guided by these principles, my administration launched the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiatives. The W-GDP is first-ever government-wide approach to women’s economic empowerment, working to ensure that women all over the planet have the legal right to own and inherit property, work in the same industries as men, travel freely, and access credit and institutions.

Yesterday, I was also pleased to host leaders for a discussion about an ironclad American commitment: protecting religious leaders and also protecting religious freedom. This fundamental right is under growing threat around the world. Hard to believe, but 80 percent of the world’s population lives in countries where religious liberty is in significant danger or even completely outlawed. Americans will never [fire or] tire in our effort to defend and promote freedom of worship and religion. We want and support religious liberty for all.

Americans will also never tire of defending innocent life. We are aware that many United Nations projects have attempted to assert a global right to taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, right up until the moment of delivery. Global bureaucrats have absolutely no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that wish to protect innocent life. Like many nations here today, we in America believe that every child — born and unborn — is a sacred gift from God.

There is no circumstance under which the United States will allow international [entries] entities to trample on the rights of our citizens, including the right to self-defense. That is why, this year, I announced that we will never ratify the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty, which would threaten the liberties of law-abiding American citizens. The United States will always uphold our constitutional right to keep and bear arms. We will always uphold our Second Amendment.

The core rights and values America defends today were inscribed in America’s founding documents. Our nation’s Founders understood that there will always be those who believe they are entitled to wield power and control over others. Tyranny advances under many names and many theories, but it always comes down to the desire for domination. It protects not the interests of many, but the privilege of few.

Our Founders gave us a system designed to restrain this dangerous impulse. They chose to entrust American power to those most invested in the fate of our nation: a proud and fiercely independent people.

The true good of a nation can only be pursued by those who love it: by citizens who are rooted in its history, who are nourished by its culture, committed to its values, attached to its people, and who know that its future is theirs to build or theirs to lose. Patriots see a nation and its destiny in ways no one else can.

Liberty is only preserved, sovereignty is only secured, democracy is only sustained, greatness is only realized, by the will and devotion of patriots. In their spirit is found the strength to resist oppression, the inspiration to forge legacy, the goodwill to seek friendship, and the bravery to reach for peace.

Love of our nations makes the world better for all nations.

So to all the leaders here today, join us in the most fulfilling mission a person could have, the most profound contribution anyone can make: Lift up your nations. Cherish your culture. Honor your histories. Treasure your citizens. Make your countries strong, and prosperous, and righteous. Honor the dignity of your people, and nothing will be outside of your reach.

When our nations are greater, the future will be brighter, our people will be happier, and our partnerships will be stronger.

With God’s help, together we will cast off the enemies of liberty and overcome the oppressors of dignity. We will set new standards of living and reach new heights of human achievement. We will rediscover old truths, unravel old mysteries, and make thrilling new breakthroughs. And we will find more beautiful friendship and more harmony among nations than ever before.

My fellow leaders, the path to peace and progress, and freedom and justice, and a better world for all humanity, begins at home.

Thank you. God bless you. God bless the nations of the world. And God bless America.

Historical Reference

On September 28th in 1066:
William the Conqueror invades England

Claiming his right to the English throne, William, duke of Normandy, invades England at Pevensey on Britain’s southeast coast. His subsequent defeat of King Harold II at the Battle of Hastings marked the beginning of a new era in British history.

William was the illegitimate son of Robert I, duke of Normandy, by his concubine Arlette, a tanner’s daughter from the town of Falaise. The duke, who had no other sons, designated William his heir, and with his death in 1035 William became duke of Normandy at age seven. Rebellions were epidemic during the early years of his reign, and on several occasions the young duke narrowly escaped death. Many of his advisers did not. By the time he was 20, William had become an able ruler and was backed by King Henry I of France. Henry later turned against him, but William survived the opposition and in 1063 expanded the borders of his duchy into the region of Maine.

In 1051, William is believed to have visited England and met with his cousin Edward the Confessor, the childless English king. According to Norman historians, Edward promised to make William his heir. On his deathbed, however, Edward granted the kingdom to Harold Godwine, head of the leading noble family in England and more powerful than the king himself.

In January 1066, King Edward died, and Harold Godwine was proclaimed King Harold II. William immediately disputed his claim. In addition, King Harald III Hardraade of Norway had designs on England, as did Tostig, brother of Harold. King Harold rallied his forces for an expected invasion by William, but Tostig launched a series of raids instead, forcing the king to leave the English Channel unprotected. In September, Tostig joined forces with King Harald III and invaded England from Scotland. On September 25, Harold met them at Stamford Bridge and defeated and killed them both. Three days later, William landed in England at Pevensey.

With approximately 7,000 troops and cavalry, William seized Pevensey and marched to Hastings, where he paused to organize his forces. On October 13, Harold arrived near Hastings with his army, and the next day William led his forces out to give battle. At the end of a bloody, all-day battle, King Harold II was killed–shot in the eye with an arrow, according to legend–and his forces were defeated.

William then marched on London and received the city’s submission. On Christmas Day, 1066, William the Conqueror was crowned the first Norman king of England, in Westminster Abbey, and the Anglo-Saxon phase of English history came to an end. French became the language of the king’s court and gradually blended with the Anglo-Saxon tongue to give birth to modern English. William I proved an effective king of England, and the “Domesday Book,” a great census of the lands and people of England, was among his notable achievements. Upon the death of William I in 1087, his son, William Rufus, became William II, the second Norman king of England.

Vexing Health Issues (Part Two)

Sitting around the Old Cracker Barrel, Talking
 Dealing with Mental Health Issues
Many of America's inner cities have a homelessness crisis. China has a similar problem but it's called "the Floating Population**" and they keep them off the streets of major cities. They're invisible to tourists but they cause problems for the Public Security Bureau because they fall well outside of the 'social scoring' and traditional public order system.

So both the US and China have homelessness problems. In the US, it's a combination of people who have problems with (a) drug addiction, (b) mental health issues, (c) chronically unemployable. Not the same problem as the Chinese. Not precisely. In China, the numbers are close to 3/4 of the population of the USA.
**China's internal migratory population (both inter- and intra-provincial) exceeds 250 million people. Within that population are those without household registration (流动人口), petty criminals, Chinese versions of gypsies, and many of the functional insane.
There are homeless task forces in every major city. What do we do about it? How do we cope with it? Not feeding them and offering benefits would be a start, but it's not a solution. BRM's Blog brought up the Baker Act (Florida) the other day. It's worth reviewing both what BRM wrote and the comments (which include some of you).

One solution is to change the law to allow for a round up and triage system. Drug addicts are dried out and are put into a form of rehab, using every major technique known to mainstream them again. The chronically unemployable are taught skills that they might use and are gradually weaned from benefit programs as they enter the workforce - to the extent that we can do it. The third group is the mentally ill. Go back up to BRM's blog link one more time.

Under the current political environment these things would likely be considered to be proof of mental illness:
  • Owning a firearm
  • Voting Republican (or anything but Democrat)
  • Being a veteran
  • Flying a Gadsen Flag
  • Making an OK hand signal
  • Believing in God
Thus trust in the system is essentially impossible.

Now the Mail

C W Swanson - Excellent. Your in! Now, have fun with the Winter weather.
I moved in ten months ago...
Fredd Wags the Dog - 'Don't change horses in the middle of the stream.' We've heard that before, and it clearly worked for Barry Obama's re-election; even when unemployment was over 7% (which he then had the OMB fudge the numbers so that they came in at under 7% right before the election).

The election is around a year away, and the economy shows no real signs of tanking before then. With everything going well economically, the Democrats have absolutely nothing to entice people to vote for them. Other than Trump is evil and should be impeached (although they will not cast ther vote for that eventuality, since that would doom their own re-election chances in Trumpian districts).

I see absolutely no chance of the electorate throwing the dice and changing horses in the middle of the stream. It also seems clear that the more slime they try to taint Trump with, the more it slops all over themselves.
The donkeys believe if they can throw enough mud on President Trump that people will believe their lies, with media shills to carry the message. They hope that we will go full communist.
Vexing Health Issues (Part One)

NOTE: Full disclosure, I am pro-vaccinations. I don't rule out that in some cases they may cause harm, but the diseases are much worse than the cures. There are a lot of people including friends of mine who are not. Many of those people fear a vaccination conspiracy. I have seen no sign that it is the case. Yes there are articles out there, but I am unconvinced.
Old NFO - Herd immunity IS a thing. When you have a bunch of anti-vaxxers out there, that immunity goes away. Look at the measles epidemics we've seen just this year. What if those were smallpox? Or something even worse. Yes, I'm a proponent of vaccinations! I grew up seeing people in iron lungs from polio. I don't want a repeat of that. Re Ebola. Lock them down. There are not enough beds in the entire US to handle even a dozen infected people!!! The CDC, WHO, and others, including JHU have come out with alerts to that effect.
I agree 100%, my friend. On all counts.
DRJIMI'm with NFO. We spent decades, and untold wealth, to eradicate common diseases within our borders. Now a few misinformed people are making enough noise to get others to follow them "For The Children".

Sheesh..,..that's why we did this in the first place.

As the old saying goes..."Some people would bitch if you hung 'em with a new rope..."
There are a lot of viruses out there that were disfiguring and killing people for millennia. We stopped that with mass inoculations. Infected vectors from third world s-holes arrived after we stopped and started epidemics. The message was delivered loud and clear.
LSP - Ah, the old vax dilemma. They've worked well enough for me, no polio, and less well for others. That in mind, what fresh hell are our overlords concocting? Surely they wouldn't be evil enough to run freakish experiments on the gen. pop. through vaccinations.

Paranoid perhaps, but still. As for ebola, BUILD THE DAM WALL.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're NOT out to get you.
WSF - Vaccines? Who determines the quality? I've written about my son and multiple inoculations at an early age. My son, the medic, said he seldom saw any health professionals reading the information sheets, let alone advising recipients of possible side effects.

IMO, an area of medicine gone sloppy and careless.
I'm not a virologist or an MD of any sort. I think that we look at cause and effect and try to deal with the outliers. For the greater part, we have eliminated a dozen critically serious plagues.
Beans - Lesse... No vaccines and Polio, diptheria and a thousand other hells come back in vogue, or Vaccines and the plagues that killed people right and left, crippled and destroyed families, all stop? I'll take Vaccines for a 1000, Alex.

Vaccines. Totally. VACCINES!!!

As a recent sufferer of shingles, as in my doc saying "That's the Worst case of shingles I've ever seen!" I would kick myself hard for not getting the vaccine, but my frickin head hurts too much to move much, like to kick myself.

Vaccines have, truly, saved whole generations, whole populations, whole societies. Anyone who's ever seen a pre-diptheria vaccine graveyard and seen the children's graves, everywhere, due to diptheria, and isn't pro-vaccine is just wrong in the head.

Are vaccines painful? Yes. Are they sometimes ineffective? Yes. Are there possibly some issues with them? Maybe. Is it worth allowing back the killers of children (seriously, making it past 13 was difficult back in the day) to flourish and rip our world apart again because of issues brought up by people who also support vaginal eggs as a therapy, well... VACCINES!!!!!

What's the safe distance to be around someone who doesn't have immunity? About as far as you can shoot.

To summarize, VACCINES!!!!!
Shingles is no joke. I had chicken pox twice. Once as a child, once as an adult (never was vaccinated for it). Shingles is like adult chicken pox with Biblical proportions.  And adult chicken pox is pretty damned horrible.

How should the world deal with the threat of ebola, coming out of Africa? Explain yourself.

There is another topic lined up for tomorrow.

Please Push for Impeachment

Topical Note : The Democrat National Committee attorneys and advisors (most of whom are lawyers) believe that if there is enough impeachment talk that the American people will side with the communists (Warren and Sanders) against President Trump. They know that an impeachment trial during the run up to an election would be disastrous. They just want to dirty the President up.

Paul L. QuandtI always enjoy reading your blog. Sometimes I learn a new to me thing and sometimes I just enjoy reading about what's going on around you. Also, you have a way of looking at the political scene that both informs and entertains me.
The only thing that this blog tries to offer is the truth, and a bit of humor. It's often the same thing. You don't see much of it in the mainstream media.
LindaGSome news outlets are predicting the Repubs that don't like Trump will turn on him in an impeachment trial. Didn't the 'end of life on Earth' countdown start when Al Gore left office?
We read the same thing. Mitt Romney is positioning himself to be the savior of the Republican Party at the convention (again). He's an embarrassment and has always been a closet liberal. I find his behavior craven.
Al Gore sold his company to oil sheiks for millions. Good move, Al. I'm sure that the world (for him) will end when his heart stops beating. Then he may have a whole new set of problems.
LSP -  Seems like theater to me, and an absurd one at that. Have the DNC effectively conceded 2020? Or are they just dimwits?
Dimwit seems to be such a gentle characterization. Ok, you're a man of the cloth. You can get away with it. I think that they feel that America doesn't want to go full communist and without Biden as the moderate, they can't win. The Ukraine/China scandals have been a steak in his heart. So they're running interference with the communists, in the hope that America will change its mind.
WSF - Hear all these political talking heads spouting off the the President is corrupt, lies, isn't fit to be commander-in-chief, etc. but don't see any specific, detailed allegations spelled out.
The only allegation is that they don't like President Trump. They don't need a crime to vote too impeach. Then it moves to the Senate where there is a trial. And they clearly don't want that.
Jim - Will they impeach? Sound minds will not, but we aren't talking about the sane here.
They're sane. They are playing the only hand they have. The economy is roaring, people are working, Afghanistan is winding down. They need to run on something. Warren and Sanders are running on taking your money, your food, your cars, etc. They are telling you that Trump is a crook, when it's clearly Biden who was running his financial scam from the White House.
The donkeys have a long history of squandering public funds with no apparent positive result.
They enrich themselves and remain in office, enriching themselves, by bribing the poor to vote with other people's money. It's a sweet hustle. True of both parties, but the donkeys are up front about it.
Speaking of Gore, I do believe the 12 years to go resets annually, so we still have 12 to go. That suits me since I too have borrowed time on several occasions.
Ah, yes. Resetting the clock endlessly, like some religions who predict the end and then they have to do the same thing.
Woodsterman - If you can't win at the ballot box, lie and cheat to win your point.
It's the only game available to them.

The White Wolf Mine

DRJIM (sort of a mountain man now) - Cap'n Bob and the Damsel talk about all the javelinas they have down Wickenburg way. They tear up stuff and are annoying.

We had some reports of bears coming down out of the hills in the last week or so. Don't if that portends anything, but it's a reminder that we do live "In The Country" out here. The only animal attacks we've heard of is the guy that wrestled the mountain lion last year, and he won.

I think the authorities said it was a juvenile lion, probably practicing his hunting skills.
We don't have many javelinas around here. The lions, wolves and bobcats thin the numbers. Still, they are present in the area. As to the guy who killed the lion, I wouldn't want to take on a juvenile lion bare handed.
You seem to have made the transition from Long Beach, CA scientist to Colorado naturalist seamlessly. That's a good thing.

Please Push For Impeachment

Counting Votes

Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) can count votes. If she has a simple majority, she can call for a vote for articles of impeachment. Facts are not necessary, proof is not necessary, it's simply a partisan vote.

The matter is then referred to the US Senate for Trial. It will be presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

During the Trial

The President will have the right to subpoena witnesses including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Clapper, Big Jim Comey, etc. They will testify under oath under penalty of perjury and they'll turn on each other in a public setting.

The Vote

The Republicans and a few Democrats will vote not to impeach the president (a 2/3 majority must vote to uphold the impeachment if he's to be removed from office).

The Aftermath

The Democrat Party will be shredded and the corrupt, lying mainstream media will complain that the Trump impeachment was rigged.

AND THAT is why Nancy Pelosi has not put an impeachment vote on the floor of Congress.

Now, the Mail:

A Late Arrival

OldAFSarge - Nature can be pleasant to contemplate. When it's not trying to kill you that is!
That's why it's useful to go afield with the means to defend yourself. I apply the same standard in cities that I visit in the event that a cretin decides that I'd make a splendid victim.
LSP -  Great pics and a pleasant change from the impeachment circus.
As you can see (above) we're back to the circus. The donkeys don't want an impeachment trial, because it would be a trial of Barack Obama, Slow Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton ultimately. They know it and President Trump knows it.
JulesHow very beautiful! You did the right thing moving there. I’d be up and in that all day long. Nature cures a lot.

I went to Wollaton park ( home of Batman in the movies) and the T. Tex and I got cornered by a gigantic stag in rutting season. That was a touch and go scenario let me tell you!
The silence and the wind through the pines is addicting. It's good that you had Terrible Tex the wolf-dog to hold the gigantic stag at bay. In a year or so, he'll bring the stag down for you and you can eat stag steaks and stag jerky.
Jim - You seem to have a wider variety of wildlife than we do. No elk or javelina, but whitetails and turkeys abound, plus coyotes aplenty and bobcats and rumors of mountain lions for predators. The apex predator of the whitetail seems to be the motor vehicle.
I live an hour's drive from the nearest town. That makes a difference.
DaveS - Saw a pair of young fawns (late season babies) just a few weeks ago - and now we're bracing for 18"-36" of snow this weekend. Mother Nature can be harsh.
I don't know what the winter kill rate is on late season fawns. Where I am, we don't usually get that much snow. Last year set a record for both cold temperatures and snow depth... and the young deer did just fine, but they weren't fawns.
Raven - Nice living in the woods, isn't it!
It's good for the soul.
Woodsterman - Enjoy it while you can. We all only have 12 more years to live, you know.
I think that they said that two years ago, and the clock is remorseless. We're down to ten years remaining after which all life on Earth will die. However, a ten year threat isn't all that ominous to me because I might not live that long. Predicting that I have ten years to live makes me say, "cool". I'm frankly shocked that I have lived as long as I have, being a wicked old SOB and all that.
WSF - Didn't know javelinas were rodents. the things one learns reading blogs is amazing.
It's all part of the service.

A Late Arrival

Usually white tail deer fawns are born in late spring, but occasionally, they're born in the late summer. We have a new (and yet late) arrival, spots and all and his mother who are regular visitors.

The fawn has two older brothers who sprout forked antlers this summer and they still hang out from time to time, but it is the baby that's getting all the attention.

And where the baby goes, Mother white tail is close by.

We don't see that many white tail dear in this area. They are mostly mule deer. And there are the fat, sleek elk, which have been grazing all summer as the deer browse.

Usually the mountain lions avoid adult deer, even white tail deer, which are quite small. They'd prefer to eat a javelina (peccary) or easier game to kill, but a, that's a much easier and tastier meal.

Many white tail deer births are multiples (often two) and as far as I can tell, we only have the one fawn.

The javelina (below) reproduce quickly and serve an important part in the food chain. They are only occasional visitors to the White Wolf Mine. There are areas up here where people feed them that they are more likely to be seen by humans.  Even though they're rodents, not pigs, they exhibit many of the same characteristics that pigs do. They grunt, root around, and are destructive. But they don't grow to be large, the way that feral hogs (or feral Hoggs) tend to.

We also have a late rabbit (I think that it is a hare) that makes the occasional appearance. It's not unusual to see a rabbit, but the predators that we have here keep the population thinned out. There are coyotes, but the lions eat them. Generally mountain lions and bobcats feed on the rabbits. Somebody asked me if we have wild dogs up here (other than coyotes and wolves). I don't think that a domestic dog would last long. There are simply too many apex predators.

While I do keep track of the political circus, and international events, there are far more interesting things going on around me, if I but take the time to look.

Extra Edition (more on impeachment)

BRM's analysis of the legal situation is referenced here. Because Peter Grant nailed it, I can't go much farther. The Democrats feel that they can run this one across the finish line to impeachment but sadly for the rabid hoard, foaming at the mouth, it won't work. The metrics aren't there for the lynching that they desire.

They are frantic with the fear that President Donald J. Trump will win the White House and will shift the axis of power in the House of Representatives.

Biden's lane, considered to be the 'moderate lane' that the mainstream Democrats could support has a 14 car pile up in it. Now if you're a Democrat, you have to support Warren or Sanders, both communists. Sanders was so lazy as a young man that he was thrown out of the commune where he lived. He honeymooned in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and his dream is to make America into Soviet Russia. Warren, wants to tax US corporations into oblivion and have the government take over running them. Those are not appealing to any but the most feckless in our society.

Old NFO opines - Re impeachment, they've been throwing shit at the wall hoping it sticks since day one. And the revolving number of 'reasons' for impeachment is simply amazing. The 'fact' is that he's living in the Dem's heads... LOL The only people undermining the American elections are the Dems and their acolytes.
Donald J. Trump lives in their dreams - with a chainsaw and a hockey mask, Old NFO. And every time they have a moment when they think that they have him, he starts that chainsaw and ends up stuffing their lies and conspiracies where the sun doesn't shine.
Jules - You now have weather like England! How’s that suiting you? What it like being away from a permanent Californian 80 F? I love the crisp Autumn feel. I bet the colours are very pretty in the land beyond the WWM!
The autumn weather at the WWM is nice during the day with a chill at night. It's not the endless summer of California. Given that, there are people coming up weekend after next to look at creating their version of the WWM, and I'm going to show them around. They want to live in a place of peace amid chaos, where they can be left alone. They're Greeks (from Greece) and they are of the opinion that they can also raise sheep here in this area (cougar food). Cows do ok, but sheep -- maybe not. However they have sworn to cook authentic Greek food (like you eat in the Athens Placa) and invite me over. So in a way they are buying my love. I had travel plans but may re-arrange them for the sake of these people who are seeking freedom.
WSF - Good you will soon be able to travel again.
Yes, thank you. I'm much improved.
Camperfixer - "Some cynics believe that the President set up the donkeys with this story for the express purpose of re-igniting the Biden Ukraine and China scandals."

Now that's an angle I hadn't considered
The Biden/Ukraine/China connection has been out there in the public with Slow Joe chatting about it. Pulling Ukrainian President Zelensky into the mix with a whistle blower forced the corrupt, sly, smug, filthy mainstream media into a feeding frenzy and then Trump reversed it. The choreography is just too good to be an accident. The optics too solid. The Squad, etc. launched into their impeachment in a type of circular firing squad, with Trump on the sidelines.
"The Squad has only one job. To insure the reelection of Donald J. Trump in 2020."

Never thought the insanity of those four America hater crazies might be strategic from day one as you suggest.
No, I don't think that the Squad is on the Trump Train. They are a force that is destroying the donkeys from within, but I think that's working toward the re-election of President Trump.
Jim - As Kle pointed out, all this impeachment business keeps them from passing really crappy bills. God help us if they regain the senate and white house.
Yes, their focus on impeachment has kept them from doing actual harm.

Hump Day Frenzy

BREAKING - Transcript of the telephone call from President Trump to President Zelensky

Frenzy and Fury

There are two reasons why the Ukraine story has created panic among the Democrats.

(1) It threatens Biden and Biden is the only one of the Democrats (with the possible exception of Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI)) who won't run as a socialist or "National Socialist" with a promise to take away cars, meat and raise taxes astronomically while "tearing down the wall" between the US and Mexico. Most Democrats inside the beltway understand that having an old communist clown like Sanders or a fake Indian like Warren makes the circus more amusing, but even they don't want to see them as the party's standard bearer. It's why they stood by and let Hillary snatch the nomination from Sanders in 2016.

(2) It has dawned on the DNC that President Trump, with his increasing favorability rating, has a very good chance of winning and switching the House of Representatives back to the Republicans. Another "IMPEACH TRUMP" push is sure to dirty up the President.
Fredd observesAren't there ANY decent liberals/progressives left anywhere in this country? You know, those we used to call the 'loyal opposition,' those with whom we could disagree without being disagreeable? I can't name any, other than perhaps Howard Schultz, maybe Mark Cuban?
The modern-day Democrat wants nothing less than to demonize and ultimately incarcerate any conservative opponent, and characterize the difference between them and their adversaries as good vs evil (they being the good, of course).
Joe Biden is the slimiest slimebag to ever blow in from Slime Town. This scuzz bucket is so corrupt, he gives corruption a bad name. And his little boy Hunter hasn't fallen far from the tree, he's a damn criminal to put a happy face on his dealings with China and Ukraine.
Now we are facing Pocahontas, who considers everybody in the country who has a few nickels to rub together as evil capitalists who should have all of their ill-gotten gains confiscated.
This upcoming general election should be awfully interesting, if the brain dead electorate is paying any attention at all to any of this.
There actually are Democrats (think Goldman Sachs) who dump a lot of money into the coffers of the DNC and while Biden is only a useful idiot, he's THEIR useful idiot...a lot like Barack was. Supporting Sanders, Warren, the Butt Guy and Beto is not something that they want to do. Harris can't even eek out better than fifth place in CALIFORNIA. Will they switch to President Trump? Either that or just stay away and let the Republicans sweep 2020.

Let's look at the history of the Impeach Trump movement.

April 2016: Politico ran a story headlined: “Could Trump Be Impeached Shortly After He Takes Office?” It starts by saying that, “Donald Trump isn’t even the Republican nominee yet. But … ‘impeachment’ is already on the lips of pundits, newspaper editorials, constitutional scholars, and even a few members of Congress.”

January 2017: The same day Trump was inaugurated, the Washington Post ran a story saying that the “effort to impeach Trump is already underway.”

Feb 2017: An impeach Trump online campaign already had attracted 650,000 signatures.

April 2017: Rep. Maxine Waters leads an “impeach Trump” chant.

November 2017: Six House members introduced articles of impeachment against Trump, claiming he obstructed justice, violated the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause, and undermined the federal judiciary process and the press.

May 2018: Rep. Al Green says “there’s a good likelihood there will be articles of impeachment” brought against Trump if Democrats reclaim the House.

June 2018: Five months before she was elected to the House, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Trump should be impeached, claiming, “There are serious grounds in violations of the Emoluments Clause from day one.”

July 2018: After Trump’s Helsinki press conference with Vladimir Putin, Democrats declared that his conduct was grounds for impeachment. Former CIA Director John Brennan tweeted that “Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors.'” “It was nothing short of treasonous.”

December 2018: Rep. Jerry Nadler says Trump could be impeached for the alleged payoffs to porn star Stormy Daniels. “Certainly they’d be impeachable offenses because even though they were committed before the president became president, they were committed in the service of fraudulently obtaining the office,” he asserted.

And all this, of course, was before Special Counsel Robert Mueller released his findings on the Russia investigation, which took the wind out of the sails of the impeach Trump crowd. Now, conveniently enough, a new charge emerges even though the Democrats have yet (as of this writing) to read the transcript that holds the impeachable offense. Given that there are usually around a dozen people on those calls, I would find it surprising if it's more than another witch hunt in a long series of witch hunts.

Meanwhile at the White Wolf Mine

High on Arizona's Mogollon Rim, the DC/NY tempo and frenzy is absent. This is Trump country where God, guns and the president are respected and revered. The days are getting shorter, the nights cooler, and we've had three days of rain. It means that I need to think about winterizing the house.

I hired a roofing company to put up snow shields on the steel roof. They sent me an invoice. I didn't pay it. Then they called, asking why no check. I replied (No ticky, no laundry) that they needed to do the work first, and I would pay them by cash or check when they finished. [long silence] "ok". The problem is that I will be out of town shortly, so they need to get on it, or I'll pay them when I return... They said that they'll be on it next week.

And so it goes.

Now the mail:

Ed said - "And I took that 6 foot length of chain, and I faced that Ukrainian President...."
I know, it was terrifying to hear the account of how Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was forced to drop his straight razor into a bucket of water, "get 'em rusty, boys"....
LSP - You'd think they'd want to stop people looking into their corruption but apparently not. The Bidens must be cursing the Squad right about now.
The Squad has only one job. To insure the reelection of Donald J. Trump in 2020.
Camperfixer summarises - Let's see...

Fixing the election didn't work, the" Insurance Plan" didn't work, Russia Collusion and the 42 million dollar Meuller investigation and report didn't work, entrapping various administration members didn't work, Stormy Daniels and the Creepy Porn Lawyer didn't work, smearing Justice Kavanaugh didn't work, and a host of "other" nefarious lies and deceitful garbage didn't work. BUT...when the president calls another country's leader to discuss important matters - as he is lawfully able to do - an unknown "whistle blower" who wasn't actually there but after being promised his mortgage would be paid off, we have Camilla DeVille Pelosi (snerk) looking into her smudgy political mirror on the wall which tells her to trot out the impeachment "inquiry" because THIS WILL NOW WORK. They got him now...not.

The Dem's - thinking they are vastly more savvy and smarter than this President...are toast. This scum is so delusional on their own self-importance - having gotten beyond desperate so will try ANYTHING - that they cannot see the President has sold them the very rope they will hang themselves. Stupid is what stupid does....which - for a change - is good for America.
Some cynics believe that the President set up the donkeys with this story for the express purpose of re-igniting the Biden Ukraine and China scandals.
Kle - Well, I can't see how the Impeachment is going to accomplish anything but to hand 2020 to Trump. It's not as if the Senate is likely to proceed on any sort of consequence, even if the House can somehow actually impeach. Running failed Impeachments (the only kind, essentially) has always been a disaster for the instigators' political ilk.

So, hooray for that, I guess. Also, while they are having their big Impeachment group-wank, they won;t have any time for passing bad Bills, so win / win.

I'm wondering what the Dems (the saner ones) see in the effort, though. Is virtue-signalling at the expense of Power really worth it to the Dem Old Political Hack Guard? More interestingly, are Pelosi et al hoping that the double failure might sweep away the New Frothing Revolutionary wing of the party?

I do kinda get a kick out of all the Dems and Press (Dem Minions) trying to say "it's Patriotism when I do it, but it's Treason when you do it" with a straight face...
There are a lot of the Democrat old guard who are scratching their heads about the potential of creating a new party and allow the National Socialist Worker's Party go their own way. There are a lot of problems with doing that. The numbers are such that they'd be significantly outnumbered by Republicans if they did. But with people like Beto (Irish Bob) as torch bearers for the current Democrats, they may have no choice.

Impeach - Again?

The Notorious

Photo of Corn Pop and Vice President Biden
President Trump has taken out Slow Joe Biden at the knees. From now until the Democrat Convention, the Biden narrative will be all about Ukraine, China, and corrupt behavior. The mere idea that Hunter Biden was hired by a Moscow leaning oligarch in order to demonstrate that he had juice with the United States will keep surfacing. I haven't seen the transcript of the telephone call between President Trump and the leader of Ukraine, but my sense is that it will only serve to throw more mud on Biden, who deserves it.

We will all see what revelations the conversation's transcript brings. The Ukraine hoax is going to be simply another example of the witch hunt that President Trump has endured since he took office.

LindaG - History  is no longer taught in any form, which means we are likely doomed to repeat it.
Yes indeed.

Camperfixer - re: Greta Thunberg -- Seems Earth's inhabitants have been saying the same old "the world is coming to an end" Chicken Little baloney for a millennia (pick an era). And it always has to do with "when times are good" there are a few nitwits among us ("out there among the English"...h/t Witness) that clearly have nothing to do in their daily doings so have to generate fear and self-loathing )that the rest of us normal's get the share whether we like it or not.)

Who gives a rip what this child thinks or says (or more likely, parroting someone else's script), anyone giving her any platform is a fool and playing into the court Jester's who will profit by this power grab ruse.

It is obvious Miss Thunberg is being handled...being used by those who believe they have a better line to God than the rest of us and somehow know for sure the world will NOW end...for sure...maybe. We shall see. In the mean time I'll get up each day and do what I do all the while ignoring the moronic among us English (as it were). Oh, and in Northern Colorado the climate is changing..for the this time of year.
The leaves have not turned yet at the White Wolf Mine, but soon. Yes, and I don't know what we can do about it except eat Soylent Green in the hopes that it makes a difference.

raven waxes cynically - On disarming- it seems like a really bad idea to go collecting items with cavities in them, pre-announced, from people who have experience and attitude. Especially if they smile while handing them over.
Also seems questionable to have a bunch of people in a long line , getting ready to hand over their items at some designated spot.
These people are not just left in their politics, they are on the left end of the intellectual bell curve. One really regretful thing about the poor education they have is the destruction of the ability to infer consequences. In the idiom, it is the "what could possibly go wrong" factor. Particularly prevalent in issues of taxation, for example the 10% "luxury tax" which immediately ricocheted around every yacht builder in the country, flushing all those "living wage" jobs down the shitter. Takes fifty or so well paid people AKA skilled trades a couple of years to build a nice yacht. Poof- have a nice can of job-be-gone.
A really cynical person could make the argument the entire point of the tax was to destroy middle class (kulak) jobs. That thinking is passe- the communists are just not that smart anymore. They used to be- their screeds from the 30's indicates some ability to reason, but no more. The fatal mistake was allowing themselves to be infected with the same PC virus they inflicted on the rest of us. Some famous person once made the comment, it is OK to lie to your enemy, and to expect your enemy to lie to you, but it is fatal to lie to yourself. Sort of goes along with the old German military axiom of the worst possible officer being the one who is both stupid, yet energetic.
The liberals are most completely defined as busy bodies of limited wit and understanding who want to run everyone's life based on a set of new rules that do not apply to them (because they are our betters.
Steve September - Peter Schweizer was a guest on Fox last night. They briefly discussed his book that is mentioned above. He's scheduled to be on Life, Liberty and Levin this weekend.
I'll check it out this weekend and will set the DVR to record.
Jim - Some years back Credence Clearwater Revival released a song called Fortunate Son. I recall a couple of lines ran

"It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no"

I've wondered in the past, given his four month tour, if that wasn't a reference to Al Gores Senior and Junior. It might apply today to ol' Hunter and his dad.
The Hunter situation with a waiver for drug abuse and over age, only to have a dirty piss test as soon as he's commissioned takes the whole fortunate son scenario to a new low.
Old NFO - NONE of those acorns fell very far from the tree of corruption.
Not everyone turns out to be the man that he hoped that one day he might be, but Hunter Biden is in a universe all his own. Joe, the good old boy, is going to have to eat a lot of crow on that one.
Mike_C - Greta Thunberg resembles David Hogg in that both have a habitual peevish, pinch-faced, perpetually constipated facial expression. Both appear to be a case of you really can tell by the cover what's in the book.
And it's really ugly.
WSF - All that comes to mind is the old country saying, "Ain't had no proper fetchings".
I'm not sure that I know what that means.

It's About the Children

Tomorrow Belongs to Me!

The UN follows an old pattern. You'd think that the One World/Climate Change movement would have come up with something a bit more unique. Greta Thunberg's dramatic reading on how we're all going to be dead in 10 years. She essentially said, "the future belongs to me."

Disarm the Americans!

That didn't work so well either. Oh, big government did fine at Lexington Green, but things changed on the their retreat from Concord. And my point is that it's been tried before.

Yes, the US Army was successful in disarming some starving and freezing Indians at Wounded Knee. They just surrounded them and shot...mostly women and children. And while the National Socialist Worker's Party of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren would like to pull something like that off today to eliminate the opposition, I don't think that it will be so easy.

The Rot and Corruption of the Deep State

Generational corruption within the Deep State has become so common that we accept it as "the new normal", or we did until the coming of President Trump.

I was aware of Hunter Biden's distinguished Naval career, but it so outrages me that I didn't want to put it out there amid all of the other corruption and filth that the Biden family wrapped itself in.

Our fellow blogger, Jim, did mention it and I guess that it bears repeating:
Hunter sounds like a real piece of work. Dumped his first wife so he could "comfort" his brother's widow. Now he's married again to a woman he fell in love with after knowing her about a week. Then there's his naval career. From Wikipedia: In May 2013, Biden was selected as a direct commission officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, a program that allows civilians with no prior service to receive a restricted line officer's commission after attending a two-week class covering topics such as military history, etiquette, and drill and ceremony, in lieu of boot camp. Because Biden was past the cut-off age for the program, he needed a waiver. Biden received a second waiver because of past drug use and drug-related arrests. One month after commissioning, Biden tested positive for cocaine use and was discharged from the Navy reserve in February 2014. Probably calls himself a vet.
Old Slow Joe Biden likely thought that Hunter would look good in a naval officer's uniform, and it would advance Hunter's political career...

Fredd adds - If this obvious Biden Family Crime Syndicate is left to flourish, there is no need to claim that the U.S. is where justice prevails; we are nothing more than a great big Banana Republic. Inarguable - two tiered justice systems eventually crumble, just FYI, as the lower tier always gets even. Guillotines are usually involved...

Old Joe is in the lead now, showing the Donkeys how it's done. Don in Oregon recommends - SECRET EMPIRES by Peter Schweizer goes into Hunter's lucrative adbentures in China and the Ukraine in detail. Schweizer is one of the best investigative journalists at work today.

Government always tends toward rot and corruption. The Founding Fathers knew it. They read history. To counteract that inclination, they provided us with a Constitution and with a Bill of Rights as a framework for good government and a hedge against tyranny.

Scum like the Donkey line-up for 2020, the Clintons, the Obamas and the Internationalists do not have American hearts. Allowing them to regain the foothold that they had would be a monumental mistake and will ultimately lead to the reckoning that Fredd discussed (above).
