How do you win an election in an inner city Democratic area?  Don't tell anyone that you're white. Don't knock it, Dave Wilson pulled it off.

KHOU HOUSTON -- Dave Wilson chuckles as he talks about his unorthodox political campaign. 

"I'd always said it was a long shot," Wilson says. "No, I didn't expect to win." 

Still, he figured he'd have fun running, because he was fed up with what he called "all the shenanigans" at the Houston Community College System. As a conservative white Republican running in a district whose voters are overwhelmingly black Democrats, the odds seemed overwhelmingly against him. 

Then he came up with an idea, an advertising strategy that his opponent found "disgusting." If a white guy didn't have a chance in a mostly African-American district, Wilson would lead voters to think he's black.

(Fox News) Wilson’s campaign website includes several photos of black people and his own biography -- which notes him having a son who served in Afghanistan, but does not appear to include a picture of Wilson. 

Wilson also aired a radio ad featuring two (inner city) "neighborhood" women discussing Wilson's political merits.

Keeping Pace with Politically Correct Terms 

The student government at the University of California, Berkeley has censured use of the term, “illegal immigrant.”

(Fox News) The resolution passed by UC Berkeley’s student government reportedly characterized the phrase as, “racially charged,” and added, “No human being is illegal . . . ‘Foreign nationals,’ ‘undocumented immigrants,’ ‘immigrants without papers’ and ‘immigrants seeking status’ are examples of terms we can use that do not dehumanize people.”

I can't help but believe that the terms, "alien" and "wetback" are still OK to use since UC Berkeley has not banned their use.
